It was a great location. Very good food. Room could have done with a makeover. Needed fresh paint. Old curtains and lumpy pillows. Bathroom not very clean. Needed a deep clean. Swimming pool was fabulous. All staff were very helpful.

Great Stay, staff are very helpful. Although under the Britannia brand, it's listed as part of the Elite Venue. The saff and management are doing their very best to get it as good as when hotel was the Hilton. Meals are good especially the Breakfast which I doubt many hotels can better. Overall, there are things that still need improvement from when it was the Hilton and current restrictions are not helping and still causing some issues, however both my wife and I were still happy to stay there.. Would I stay again, Yes

We are writing this review because we don’t normally complain, but we stayed at the grand hotel in Blackpool (fawlty towers) for two nights. When we arrived to check in we couldn’t get in until 4pm which was the check in time, when we checked in we went straight to the rooms to find so many faults it’s hard to even put into words. Even though the temperature outside was scorching, one of the rooms had the radiators switched on full power, the isolator valve was broken off so unable to turn it off! And it was in the window ledge also (My partner has just finished radiotherapy and struggles with heat so this wasn’t ideal at all). The window wouldn’t open and the door handle was hanging off on the door. In both rooms there was stains and dirt all over the carpets, neither of the bathroom fans worked and the toilets barely flushed. Telephones didn’t work in either rooms, these are just some of the faults. I complained on 3 occasions and nothing was sorted until late evening (they was well aware of the problem prior to this). We then tried to book the pool on Sunday evening for the Monday to be told to go down to the pool at 8am , we went down at 8am to see the pool was shut all day for maintenance! Overall we wanted a nice weekend to celebrate my wife’s birthday and finishing radiotherapy but this didn’t happen. We tried to check out but there was no availability to go anywhere else and my wife didn’t want the grief. I cannot fault the breakfast staff and the lady manager behind the reception ( was given 10% off the bill but this no where near covered the hassle we had) Something higher up needs to be done to sort this hotel out. I would never visit this hotel again or recommend it.
