This is a great family jeweller. I have used Goodwins several times and they have always been great.

5/ 5

This is a great family jeweller. I have used Goodwins several times and they have always been great. I have just contacted them again today and they have once more been superbly helpful. Despite the fact that on this occasion, they they couldn't assist, they still took a good deal of time advising me where I can get the best choice from and made sure I was well looked after with an honest, thoughtful, appraisal of my jewelry.

I can’t urge you enough to NOT use this jewellers. Two years ago I took my (platinum and diamond) engagement ring to be resized and it came back severely damaged. After a lengthy debate and Goodwins refusing to take any responsibility for the broken band, they finally agreed to fix the ring, free of charge. That ‘fix’ lasted one year until today, the platinum ring has snapped in two places. Exactly where they said they had repaired. Shoddy workmanship, complete lack of care and disregard for personal items. Please don’t make the same mistake I did.

My boyfriend and I were perusing jewellers in Edinburgh looking for an engagement ring. I had a spec

1/ 5

My boyfriend and I were perusing jewellers in Edinburgh looking for an engagement ring. I had a specific design in mind which was fairly unusual but certainly not ridiculous. Every other jeweller we went into said that it was an unusual design but did all they could to help and advise. Not this place! When we walked in (first impression was that it was very old fashioned, but kept an open mind) the two sales assistants just looked down their noses at us as if we were peasants. The one man that did eventually help us after we approached him(!) actually made fun of the design I described and was of no use whatsoever. Completely unprofessional. I'm not usually rude but I just had to walk out - if he was going to be useless and laugh at the requests of his customers then stuff it. Very unpleasant experience and I certainly won't be back.
