Had an appointment with this practice on the 31st of December to fill a front filling tooth I have which was chipped. The dentist there, although very friendly, decided to perform an X-ray on it, which I don't remember even being asked if I wanted that done. Following a lecture about possible decay and other issues I might face with my tooth in the future, he asked what I wanted to be done. I asked for him to fill the area at which my filling tooth had be chipped, which is why I went there in the first place. He filled the chipped part and then recommended I book another appointment with them as he believed I needed the whole filling to be replaced, I agreed with him and went up to the reception and paid 33 pounds for the filling and 65 pound for the X-ray I didn't ask for. A week later, due to I'd say sloppy work, part of the filling he applied came off.
My next appointment was on the 21st of January, where I thought he'd replace the filling I already had with a new one. Instead he made a mould of my teeth and said he'd need to order the material for the new filling and that it'd take two weeks for it to arrive. He again filled the part on the front tooth that had come off due to his previous work and asked me to head to the reception and make another appointment. When I arrived at the reception I was told that their system had gone down and that I'd be getting a phone call about booking my next appointment. I was also certain that the receptionists had not noted down my contact information correctly, so I decided to give her my email (again). The same night the filling he applied for a 2nd time on my front tooth came off. The work he did was even sloppier, literally took him 4-5 minutes to perform and didn't even grind down the tooth slightly so it doesn't grind against my lower teeth.
More than one month went by and no call or email or any contact. I then decided to call myself, and as I explained the situation, not only did I not get an apology or even a reason to why they never contacted me, I was rudely interrupted and asked what my date of birth was and If I could go in on the 8th of March. At this point I did feel a bit offended with this interaction but I just let it slide and said that I could go in at this date.
So on the 8th March, today, I went in on our agreed appointment time to wait 15 minutes in their reception area and be told that the procedure for replacing my filled tooth would require 1.5h to be done and that they don't have the time to do so today. I asked why I wasn't informed of this and even complained about everything that had happened previously. No apology, just a rude reply saying that they did call me, text me and email me to inform me about not being able to perform the procedure today. I hadn't gotten any call , text or email. Turns out they had my phone number and email noted down incorrectly. Very funny, as I knew this was a case and had given her colleague receptionist my correct email during my previous visit !! No apology again. She just asked if I could go in on the 15th March or the 18th of March. I accepted. However, I was so dissatisfied with their attitude, and still am, so I decided to call and cancel everything all together. How am I supposed to trust them if they can't even write down my name and number down correctly?
OVERALL - My wallet is 100 pounds down and my chipped tooth was never fixed.
The dentist seemed like a pleasant and intelligent man, however I do feel like he'd do more than what is asked or required to benefit the practice financially from his patients. Bit unethical I would say.
The receptionists hands down the worst that can be placed in that position. Rude and in my opinion not very good at their job.
Thankfully, there's lots of other dental practices in Glasgow which I'm sure are better. I recommend you try them and definitely steer clear from this one.
