We stayed for a weekend and found it excellent. We'd definitely come back again. A nice pool, lots of activities for kiddies and just a lovely place to be. We stayed in a deluxe 2 room cabin that was simple but had everything we needed. Good location and the lady I communicated with in reception (Pam) was so good. She was friendly and very helpful. She also gave some very good advice for what to see in the area.

2/ 5

We have been coming here for Easter weekend for the last 3 years, we have been more than happy with the park and the amenities. Unfortunately this year we were extremely disappointed. Last year we were told that the park had been sold, it is no longer a big4 park. This did not bother us as we found not much change had happened. So we re-booked for this year, only to find a lot of changes. There was no indoor camp kitchen so we had no stove or oven after taking a walk we found a microwave and fridge. The peddle bikes were no longer available, half the park was blocked off and new retirement units were being built. The most dissapointing of all, was that when we booked we were given site numbers and after looking at the map we realized it was in the dog allocated area. We then rang back and asked if we were in the dog zone. The staff assured us this was not the case. When we woke the first morning we found out we had dogs behind us, beside us and across from us. Don't get me wrong I have nothing against dog's, but we had 7 children with us and unfortunately sometimes dogs and children don't mix. There are activities for children in the recreational room, but the sign on the door said it was only on once during our stay. On our third day there we were told there had been activities every day, but we had not been told. Every night there use to be a movie playing for children in the same room, but this dose not happen any more. It was good to see the traditional Easter egg hunt in the park still went ahead, but unfortunately there was no appearance by the Easter bunny this year ( the children were very upset). Unfortunately we have now booked elsewhere for Easter weekend next year.

I got an unpowered site as close to the railway they could get for me, though there were sites much more away from that noisy track, which made even the ground shake. Can't understand why they didn't give me the best unoccupied. The kitchen was closed until 8 in the morning so I couldn't wash up after breakfast. The free WiFi was minimal. Easy things to do better!

The Welcome Stranger Caravan park is in a great location with excellent facilities. From the heated pool to an 18 hole mini golf course (very challenging!) We had a great weekend and the staff were very helpful.
