Had a lovely meal here last week. Seated in window, perfect for people watching. Friendly staff. Food lovely but my portions way too small - thank goodness my partner had chips with his veg burger so I could have a few of his (not sure he would say the same!!) Not cheap but not overly expensive either. Not all vegans like to eat like sparrows though!

The meal took close to 2 hours, not because of the ambiance or overall experience. But mainly because the food didn’t come for an inordinate amount of time. We ordered 2 starters only one came... eventually. In fairness the delay was acknowledged “a rush in the kitchen”, some olives were offered between the starter and main. These were sadly lacking in any taste. Side plates were offered for the starter but didn’t come. The mains did eventually come and the burger wasn’t bad. The main course salad looked ok, but wasn’t worth the cost. The bill did come when asked for, in fairness the starter had been removed. The server did disappear, so in the end I got up and paid on the way out. Oh, speaking of ambiance. The music was terrible, like a lift.

Tables inside and outside, on a pedestrian street that isn't too busy, so quite good for a business meeting. Service is rapid although the choices of coffee are tea are excellent and we didn't get disturbed by a coffee machine (coffee, tea and fruit juices are from that specialist organic coffee maker we found in Leeds, Wolfson). There's a lot of choice in Brighton and Food for Friends should definitely be on your list as a place to enjoy

Amazing vegetarian restaurant with some of the most creative menu items I've ever seen (I'm not a vegetarian though, so not an expert on veggie only restaurants). Really cool interior, all the quirks of a building in the old part of Brighton. Staff are great and the food is fantastic, worth a visit!

The food is decent, some dishes (the corn chowder) better than others (the kofta). Atmosphere is nice, but service seldom excellent. A decent place with a good vegan selection.

We’ve been today to try food in this restaurant and I have to say the quality and taste of the food is normal, prices are very expensive. One sweet corn rib which is normal corn that is prepared on a plate on four slices costs £8 and it’s just the normal corn. Burger house big plate costs £15 and it’s definitely not a big plate. I wouldn’t mind to pay even more but food was not tasty and and customer service was not very good. When different people come waiters use different attitude and when they asked for order different customer they were friendly nice ,Didn’t feel comfortable at all .

We have eaten here for years and it has usually been great food and service. . . until now. 1. The upholstered chairs were filthy, like seriously nasty. 2. The water came with a lovely bottle neck of sediment buildup. Easy to spot and to clean but just ignored by staff. 3. The utensils were pretty cheap and did not match - this is supposed to be good quality dining not a roadside cafe. 4. I ordered two glasses of wine. At £9 a pop. It was undrinkable and I had to send it back. Corked. (obviously not their fault. . . but one sniff and it was obvious it was bad as well as the colour was not right.) I fear the wine supplier might be supplying inferior goods as the next £9 glasses that came were only 'so/so' at best. 5. it was Sunday. . . they decided not to offer their Sunday menu with no warning saying 'it was the first Sunday this year so we had a problem'. Really? Like they didn't know it was going to be a Sunday? But they said we could have a nut roast with all the trimmings so we ordered that. 6. Starter one. . . Halloumi strips and a dip. Almost cold. Really? 7. Thai cauliflower. . . five HUGE florets. Yep, pretty nice but the portion size was enough for two or three easily. Strange. We had the dish before a year ago and it was one of the best starters I can remember. . . now? Not a patch. 8. Then the main came. . .the nut roast was some kind of sloppy thing smothered with cranberries. I love nut roasts and know one when I eat it. This was not one. Not even close. Inedible. Roast potatoes looked and tasted like yesterdays heated up. Carrots the same, Some kind of Kale portion that was inedible. The gravy came in a huge catering pot from the kitchen. Inexcusable. At that point we gave up, sent it back mostly uneaten and told the manager what we though. He said sorry and he was trying to get the standard up after being there for two months. Well, in two months if that was the result who knows what it was like before that. I did not pay obviously. The owner has a series of restaurants he now owns across Brighton and Hove. We have dined in many of them. . . but it smacks of him not looking after this one and to be so bad to make me write this is unacceptable. I'd avoid until they have seriously improved their offering.

Disapppointing meal here today. We waited an hour for our mains and £48 for two mains, two orange juices and one starter for one adult and one child seemed an awful lot for nice but not amazing food, sorry!
