A great little shop with a bar in the back. Plenty of options, in the shop and then a great wall of spirits in the bar with many many cocktails on offer. Staff are great and will knock anything up you ask of them. Their pretty knowledgeable to so if you aren't sure their great at finding what you like and make it for you! Don't let the packed bar put you off theirs an upstairs too

Just called in here walking up the high street and I'm really glad we did. Lovely cocktail bar, they don't hold back on the spirits. They have powerbanks handy to charge up your phone which was convenient. Great staff. Only downside was there's only one toilet which is used for both men and women so you could be waiting a while. Overall 5 stars and would come again.

I couldn't believe the number of gins available at evil eye, so went for a drink in the bar at the back.... The bar lady helped me choose which to try and was lovely! Fantastic customer service from her.... Just a shame the guy in the shop part was a bit moody. Overall great place to go! Definitely add it to the list if you're going to york

Been a bunch of times love trying all the different cocktails, which seem generally better value than a lot of other places in York, really extensive fun menu, and never too busy if you don't go on a Friday or Saturday night. Tables could do with cleaning more often. The shop is also pretty good.

Hidden pub behind an off licence. Really big and several floors of seating areas. Toilets on the top floor. Quite during the day and no bar staff to been seen after we got served. Various bottle lager and cocktails for sale. Nice place.

First time going to this place and I liked that they were only allowing so many in at a time. We had a to wait a little while in a queue which soon went down. The place inside is lovely. I loved the fact they had unisex toilets and had soooo many different cocktails! I was in heaven. I only stayed for 1 drink apple martini and was amazing. I loved watching them making my drinks and everyone else. Definitely worth a visit x

Pretty sure they have every spirit on earth. Great varied cocktail menu. Friendly staff. Jazzy decor. Really great tunes playing. Good place to stop for a revitalising drink whilst exploring the city. Only negative comment - could be warmer.

Me and my wife honeymooned in York in August. I'd been before years ago and suggested we see if it was still as good as I remembered. It was! We ended up going for a different drink every single night. Fantastic choice of cocktails, massive range of drinks. Staff seemed happy to go off menu for custom requests. Great space to chill out upstairs, and good choices of music. Gin shop is massive too.

Very good cocktails. They take a while to prepare but are well worth the wait. If you are thinking about a visit, go. You won't be disappointed 🍹🍸

Going down hill fast Aimed at over charging tourists It's such a shame it used to be a decent place to go Especially rude and unfriendly to foreigners The bars nice but the "alternative" bar staff are rude arrogant and unfriendly ....that's probably why they work nights on minimum wage and wear second hand clothes We asked politely for a 2 for £10 cocktail deal and were treated to "eye rolling" smirking and sarcastic comments ....... We understand york is a very cool and trendy place but rudeness from minimum wage 20-30 something bar staff who still dress like teenage students is not acceptable. Very disappointed as this used to be a very cool friendly bar but it seems to have sadly lost its "sparkle" Sadly this spoilt our night and would be very reluctant to visit this bar again as should anyone over the age of 35 who doesn't fit in with the American high school look
