Three and a half years ago we bought what we were told were bespoke wedding rings which we thought would last for life. 8 weeks ago my ring snapped, getting stuck in my finger. I took it back to martin laurie who charged me £92 for the privilege of a bad repair, it doesn't even match the rest of the ring. When I questioned why it had broken after such a short time I was informed that rings like cars need servicing. Today we wandered in to a very professional jeweller who recognised my husbands ring as one sold by a wholesaler and confirmed that the hallmark was from the wholesaler so not bespoke at all. Mine she confirmed was also from a wholesale catalogue and was concerned about the repair job. We saved for our wedding rings which we hoped were for life. We have always used Laurie's and are bitterly disappointed, we wont be returning, we have been ripped off big style and I now need to save again for a ring which I have faith in

My wife and I have used Lauries for many years, always found them to be polite and helpful, their work is excellent, they have made various pieces of jewellery for the family over the years, always well pleased. My wife wished to have a ring made from her mother's engagement and wedding rings, she took a simple design idea to Martin and we picked up the ring yesterday. It was so perfect for what it represented that it brought tears to my wife's eyes. Cannot thank Martin enough.

Absolutely fuming, I went in a few weeks ago enquiring about a memorial bracelet in memory of my Nan and family who died in Auschwitz with only my Nan surviving I asked for a bracelet to be engraved with their name and number and he ensured me that he could do it for me and then I went ahead an bought the bracelet for a big big amount of money as I had it specially made as a replica piece in America and I went in an now it apparently can’t be engraved when I went to a different jewellers they told me they can engrave it for me. Just wearing it plain simply doesn’t cut it for a remembrance bracelet because my family have no grave. Give this place a wide birth, if you want something doing ask a proper jeweller. My friend in America had hers done perfectly fine an it looks lovely.
