Drakes Fish & Chips york

Absolutely lovely Cod & Chips with great service. The lady serving in the restaurant was very attentive and my wife & I enjoyed our meals. Will definitely be going again.

Tell you what, I've been craving a good fish and chips for ages. Can safely say Drake's Fish & Chips filled that void. Definitely would recommend anyone to give it a try, I cannot fault a single thing about the food. Staff all friendly as well. Only suggestion would be to have tables numbers on the tables, as poor lad had to bounce around all the tables to see who ordered the Garlic Mushrooms.

Maybe don’t come if you are a traveler. This place is take out only(and the price is different in the restaurant space). I was bit shocked when they said they charge ketchup and mayo for 25p each!! (This is why it’s good for locals not travellers who need sauces) I’ve never been to a fish and chips place that charge you for the basic sauce. The taste was alright since I got the fish that just came out from the fryer, the chips were alright-warm but not fresh.

Absolutely gorgeous food, and friendly staff. I don't like fish, so was apprehensive of going to a fishery but the chicken bites are sooo yummy! Good sized portions too and plenty of drinks to chose from

We visited this restaurant on Sunday, delicious food, polite waitresses, good service. Only the dirty tables did not look beautiful. If you remove it a little faster, right now, after customers leave the restaurant, I will give 5 stars.

After a visit to York for a couple of days for the Christmas Market we fancied Fish and Chips! I can safely say its the best Fish and Chips I've ever had!!! Staff are amazing food is outstanding and it's a beautiful place! We can't wait to return next year!

Absolutely amazing service, very friendly staff who couldn't do enough to accommodate us. Food was amazing, the staff apologised for the wait on the food despite the restaurant been totally packed. We really didn't mind the short wait and was worth every penny. We would definitely recommend this place

Happened upon this place by chance…. We were running late for a tour but hadn’t eaten dinner. Saw this place on the way and saw food was ready in the window. Not only were the staff both fast and VERY nice and helpful, but the food turned out to be AMAZING. Hands down the VERY BEST fish and chips I’ve had since I moved to England. They had the perfect level of crisp and crunch on the outside paired with tender delicious fish on the inside. It was soooo good. AND it was a bargain price too! OUTSTANDING!

Most enjoyable quality fish & chips. Over 60's can bag a reduced price (same quality) meal. Staff are very friendly.

Went to Drakes yesterday but the queues for the restaurant and takeaway was really long so I went back today, you would think having really long queues would mean they serve good food, you would be wrong, they serve fantastic food. I love fish and very choosy about where I eat because not everyone can cook it right. My fish was superb with just enough light, crispy batter to coat it and wonderful chips, crisp on the outside and fluffy inside. You really get a plateful of fish and chips and garden peas again cooked to perfection and to top it all off an excellent lager. My only regret is that you can’t deliver to Birmingham. I will come back to York just for your fish and chips, its worth travelling for.
