I split up my review. Most Doctor's at the surgery are excellent. I cannot pick out one best one, but the majority have my up most respect. The receptionists are no doubt under an enormous amount of strain with answer queries and calls all day long. However they too often make errors, for example I had one receptionist talk about a doctor whilst I was on the phone still. I thought that wasn't professional. Most of the receptionists are very good, and go out of their way, however some are very firm and are not helpful at all. Whilst I understand they have 22,000 patients, I am only me. And some compassion would largely help in most situations. The facilities are second to none at the surgery. I am very very impressed with what can be done there without having to go to the hospital and wait lengthy waiting times. The building is always clean and tidy, even the toilet facilities. The grounds the surgery sit on are maintained to a high standard. There is ample parking but only five disabled bays. On a busy time you may have to walk miles from your space. I think that it would be a great idea to make another row of disabled spaces close by, and to perhaps be monitored as non-disabled patients have a tendency to park in them. All in all it is a great surgery, nowhere is perfect, but this ticks most boxes. I would definitely recommend it to my friends and family.

Excellent facilities, however all this is let down by major shortfalls in staffing levels across the whole practice doctors, nurses and receptionists etc. Receptionists are under so much pressure they act more like night club bouncers vetting everyone prior to making any decisions whether they should see a doctor or not. The practice has brought in online appointments however spaces are limited which means as shifts workers you may not be able to book an appointment in advance. That brings me on to the through care of your treatment, this clearly does not exist at this practice through some of the reasons stated above - it just appears you're on a merry go round of luck - to get continuity, good assessments and treatment - you've hit the jackpot. I unfortunately have not met anyone who's hit the jackpot as yet! There are some staff that do deal with you fairly and respectfully and are more helpful than others, but on the whole there is a great deal of improvement required. Some doctors make you feel that you are on the stop watch whilst dealing with you and you leave feeling why did I bother wasting my time come to seek help, I would have been better off visiting the chemist ! I would much rather go to a smaller practice where you get continuity of treatment and hopefully a more personal and professional service. Desperately looking for an alternative practice !!!!

Awful service, can not make an appointment easily! I finally got an appointment after two weeks trying for blood tests but trying to get the result is near impossible! I work 40 miles away from home so going to the doctors involves taking a day of work, so i phoned for my results and was told that i needed to make an appointment to get the results, I explained my situation and the lady said that she would get a doctor to call me, that was at approx 11am. I have now called them (at 4pm) to say that I haven't been called and surprise surprise they have no log of our conversation this morning. I don't hold out any hope that the doctor will ring me tomorrow and I am already resigned to the fact I am going to have to take another days annual leave for them to tell me my results. So in summary if you want to be messed around and have rubbish customer service join this surgery but I suggest you don't!
