I made my regular visit to the Edinburgh branch at Hermiston gate to buy a horse riding helmet. I was requiring some help and went up to an assistant to seek support. I have explained the sales assistant, Anit, what I was requiring and if she could give me some more advise on choosing the right product. At the beginning she wasn’t really keen that I had some questions and looked uninterested like she doesn’t want to sell anything. Out of nowhere she told me that the product I had in mind, is not in stock, or I can go and check it online by myself. This manner already put me off and when I was asking further questions, it looked like she had better things to do, and truly wasn’t listening properly. Finally, she went away to check another item for me. Stood there for over fifteen minutes and she did not return. I started walking around the store when I have noticed that she was helping other customers and when I went up to her to ask, where my product is, she told me in a rude manner that it is not her department and I should speak to someone else and walked away. Needless to say, I have already dealt with this lady 3 weeks ago where she provided similarly poor customer service where she was pretending to be someone high up and not doing her duties which is probably: Customer Service. I was not about to write a complaint letter but since this the second time I got this unappealing service from the same person, I had to take action. Interestingly, I went to the Glasgow store, where I have been provided with the right help and support and was able to make my purchase. The Glasgow store left me highly satisfied in contrast with the Edinburgh store.

I love shopping at Decathlon and this store is very well done. You can get the basics for nearly any kind of sport here. This store is well organized and merchandised but the best thing about it is the value you get for anything you purchase.

So first experience of this store was in France. Now at Edinburgh Park Hermiston Gate. Great store. Amazing selection of goods for most sports/leisure and very competitively priced. However since the last time I was in...much fewer staff ☹☹...everything automated at check out. Very efficient checking out process but sad to say fewer staff. Such is the outcome of automation. However this is probably one of the reasons why the goods are so competitively priced. Today at the walking/trekking section one member of staff was trying to respond to a number of waiting customers and also another staff member. On the floor - again very few staff. Helpful information on notices next to goods but what if you have a question? The assistant was very helpful...but stretched I would say. I was at a Cotswold Store another day and got a very personalised service. Makes all the difference in my view. This was 4 star rather than 5 star only for that reason. It's a balance isn't it.... making enough money to invest in the business in order to continue to employ people and make some profit whilst providing the customer with the best and most most effective service.

I actually got my new scooter here and the staff where very polite 20/10 rating I really recommend this shop for your little ones bikes and scooters and a hole bunch of camping accessories airbags bycicle computers this shop has everything you have your mind to!

So impressed with the shop and the customer service. I was buying a punchbag for my son's 20th birthday and got great advice on best options from Robyn who then very kindly helped me out to the car with everything in the pouring rain. Thank you very much!

Large queue and face masks. What's the point?

Always find prices very high .goods difficult to source.hard to find staff to assist.

The best store in Edinburgh with everything you need to survive boredom in life. 😁

Bought more than I came for 😁

Purchased two bikes for Xmas. Was a two day delay from the expected arrival date. However this didn't cause us an issue. The collection service was quick, very courteous and efficient. Well done!
