Pretty much my 'go to' garden centre in York. Everything you could imagine on the garden front, and helpful staff on hand when needed. There is also a large indoor area covering all things garden too, so worth a visit even on a wet day. The special attraction here however is The Bothy. It's regarded as a cafe, but it's so much more. Lovely restaurant standard grub. Just a warning that it does get pretty busy though as many locals visit just for the food ! Good accessibility, ramps in place and a decent sized restroom for disabled users. All in all, well worth a visit !

I only went for the restaurant tbh, which was excellent. I had the large fish and homemade chips/mushy peas which was delicious. The batter and the quality of fish/chips was excellent. One minor point the menu states served with homemade tartar sauce and a wedge of lemon I received neither. But overall 10/10 would definitely eat there again. Ps the tall gentleman with the glasses who showed me to my table your customer service was first class.

Great variety of tropical plants and rare ones. Just slightly overpriced. Can find cheaper on other centers, but this one is more luxurious and extremely well taken care of. Staff are very knowledgeable and friendly too

Absolutely fabulous garden centre with very knowledgeable staff. Even better restaurant. The Bothy catered for my dairy allergy with ease and the food was delicious. I had a roast dinner with freshly cooked veg (without butter) nothing was too much trouble! Can't wait to go again. A+

Lovely garden centre. Lots of nice things to buy. Plants are in impeccable condition. Christmas trees and baubles set up. Everywhere very clean. Covid cautious. Good selection of food/sweets in the cafe. Vanilla slices looked "yum". Tables and chairs in the cafe are sprayed ever time someone leaves.
