David Lloyd Newcastle – sunderland

Visited 3 gyms this week for try outs. This one was decent, slightly overpriced for what you get IF you’re only wanting to use the gym (which I am). I bet it’s a great deal if you’re using the rest too though, I will admit it looks great. Staff professional and kind throughout, helped me and knew their stuff which is important.

Fantastic gym really really posh spa and swimming pool and the really really nice change rooms it was a bit like a hotel actually if you step into the changing rooms

My family gym. Simply the best !

First visit as a guest to watch friends play tennis. Made to feel welcome by receptionist and café barrista. Unable to sit due to covid restrictions but comfortable to watch indoor tennis from windows.

Clean well organised with excellent facilities. Amazingly friendly staff and brilliant instructors. Wonderful family friendly atmosphere.

Enjoyable atmosphere. Shame a lot of classes have been cancelled and staff lost. Reception staff always very friendly and welcoming. Pool good and clean. Clubroom nice for a sit down and coffee. Good food. Gym much better now it has newer equipment.

Joined under a membership that wasn’t sold to me honestly, very poor communication between the club and customer services, nobody got back to me for 3 months regarding my membership increasing by 50 pounds per month. Finally ended up cancelling my direct debit that’s when someone decided to contact me. They advised they would get in touch at a further date, next correspondence was from debt collectors. I cleared the month payment I owed on the same day of correspondence and Mark the general manager advised me that there was nothing outstanding. I’ve just now had a call from the debt collecting agency asking for the money that mark said was no longer owed. No communication, No ethics, No sign of customer service. 0/10

The people who work here are really friendly and the clubroom has a welcoming and warm feeling. The gym facilities are great, with new equipment throughout. Everything's nice and clean too.

Appalled at the attitude of a swim coach. Last week, my elderly friend and I were going as usual to the slow lane in the pool, and the tall coach with silver hair began to yell at us from the other side of the room, but we couldn't understand what he was saying? He made us feel really unwelcome & uncomfortable as we just got in, it was very humiliating, we got in the slow lane & someone next to us said he was doing private lessons, so we moved away, couldn't he just come to us and explain the situation politely? And this week again, we were in the pool when he came in with a group as we were swimming in the slow lane he just took the sign off and replaced it with "training in progress" or something like that, he literally kicked us out of the slow lane without talking to us and explaining politely, what were we supposed to do next, go to the medium or fast lanes where people swim faster than us? We had to leave the pool and couldn't finish our session. We pay for our memberships too and have the right to use the slow lane, at least if the slow lane is going to be taken, you could notify your clients in advance? This treatment is incredibly unjustified and disrespectful. Such a poor experience. You should retrain him on customer service.
