I recently gave birth to a baby and was slightly apprehensive about choosing CUH, given it's reputation. However, my experience at the maternity unit was outstanding. I was very keen to give birth in their new birth centre, which was sadly closed due to low staffing on the day. Having expressed our wishes to the team, they were able to accommodate our request and opened up the centre for us. Due to other complications I had to move to the labour ward, but throughout the delivery we were well looked after by the all the staff and couldn't praise them more highly for frankly saving mine and my baby's life. The staff were incredibly friendly and their calming nature guided us through an incredibly stressful situation. I am so grateful for the care that we received that day and will happily come back here in the future.

Sorry to see so many negative posts, from "The I want it now generation" , me, myself and I types that think hospital are there only for them and there mishaps.... My father came in 3 weeks ago to the resuscitation unit in A & E,, CCU and finally receiving now as I write this post end of life care. Every single person I have come in to contact with at this hospital has had a caring heart and professional compassion which isn't always seen as staff in all area of the NHS are under pressure. I found support in the chaplains team, palliative care team, nurses and support teams at all levels, and Gary a porter that lifted my spirits the other day. Be grateful for your time here, what ever your ailment or injury take it as a blessing if you get the opportunity to go home because unfortunately some people only get a one-way ticket to hospital that's a fact of life. god bless all the staff at Croydon I think you're smashingx

I've read some negative comments in the past but in my recent experiences I cannot fault this hospital. Have been seen pretty much on time for all my appointments sometimes even ahead of schedule meaning I am able to continue my day as planned. All the staff & nurses are always helpful & friendly making what can be a genuinely stressful experience much less so. Well done all.

I had an amazing experience with this Hospital. From the emergency department to the ward, my son was treated with fantastic care. It was the scariest time in our life as parents we were put as ease by the fantastic care. The staff were professional, thorough, informative as well as reassuring, attentive and friendly. That's goes for all of the drs and nurses (especially nurse Nicole). The health care assistants, cleaners and food service workers were also really friendly. Thank you for looking after us for 5 days. Our son is now home and healthy thanks to you all.

Before my visit I had heard negative things about this hospital however was shocked at how positive my experience was. The staff were fiery kind. One walked me to the area my appointment as I couldn’t find it. During my appointments the staff were all so friendly and professional. They put me at ease and were very informative.

I have been coming to this Hospital for over 20 years. The care and staff are amazing. I have had 3 kids here, some serious DVTs, an elderly mum who needed frequent care and I have been so happy with the care we have received. The only thing that could have been better when my mum was admitted I needed to be here to feed her as I wasn't confident she would have been fed otherwise. That was a few years ago now though. Other than that, I applaud you Croydon University hospital. 😊👍🏼
