I went to the German Consulate today to renew my passport and it couldn't be easier. If you travel by car, there are some parking spots alongside the road. They were really quick to process all my documents and friendly throughout. Really polite and friendly staff!

I have to write this review although I had some issues with my visa. Objectively speaking, this is the best, the most efficient and friendly visa service. I have my visa application and trips delayed because I failed to concentrate on this earlier and some mistakes I made due to a long-time non-stop working. But the staff here always looks at the best choice for you. All your need is your document, correct arrangement, and be honest. Because I regularly travel to Munich, I have applied several times here. I think the negative reviews are not entirely fair.

I've used the German twice now to get a tourist visa for Germany and the schenghen area. Both times the appointments have been on time. The staff are very nice, very efficient, much better and faster than many other visa offices. It is in your best interest to read all the documentation and have all documents, photos and other data ready at the time of your appointment. If you don't have the necessary information you will be turned away and have to remake the appointment again. Luckily this hasn't happened to me but I have seen it happen to other people.

After being passed to them by the Council in Elgin and being told that they were legally obligated to assist him, my german boyfriend was turned away by the consulate. As of writing this, he's homeless and I have no way of helping him. Thanks a lot.

A 90 minute trip to get here to have 'proof of life' certificate signed for 86 year old friend with advanced dementia. 10 minutes late owing to Edinburgh traffic. We were turned away and will have to make the three hour trip again next week. In the background of COP26, this level of inflexibility and lack of charity is despicable.

I seriously don't know who could write a bad review of this place. Of course there are annoying rules they have to follow like any consulate, but from the first email onwards everyone was so kind and helpful it was truly incredible. To be honest I don't normally bother to write reviews, but I am taking the time here because I really can't thank them enough.
