Lovely spot for a picnic and a few bevies. If it's nice out you're sure to get a tan and everyone is pretty respectable. If you love dogs then you're sure to run into a few. Make sure you bring some change or cash with you if you're interested in a coffee or an ice-cream! Highly recommend

Perfect place for a walk, run or a bike ride. There is a free car park. Plenty of space around and the best thing is it feels like you're somewhere far from city.

There is a small car park near to the visitors' centre that has toilets (didn't use them). There was a trailer selling hot drinks etc when we arrived but had left by the time we finished our walk. We also saw an ice cream van. The main paths are pram and wheelchair friendly. There is a reasonable sized lake with lots of wildlife to spot. Plenty of picnic benches and benches but could do with more bins. There is a small children's play area and an educational garden for children. We also walked around Kenworthy Woods and the public footpath we took actually took us across some sports fields where dogs are not allowed - didn't see the signs until we left the sports grounds. Some lovely walks along the River Mersey but we didn't find anywhere the dogs could access it for a swim. Bins and benches a little rare in the woods and some of the paths we took are not pram or wheelchair friendly.

Excellent place to come for a walk with the kids. Nice easy loop around the water with plenty of ducks & geese to see and feed. If you start anti clockwise the walk finishes up at a very good play ground for the kids and usually an ice cream van for a treat. Lots of wild life to spot, and plenty of greenery. The main loop itself is very short, but can easily be extended by branching off with longer walks to Sale Water or further afield along the River Mersey.

5/ 5

Toilets, play area, pram friendly, ducks, geese and swans to feed, even a few blackberries to pick. Loads of wooded area along either side of the path for kids to explore and climb trees. On the other side of the water you can join the Mersey path. Ice cream van often there at the bottom of the ramp. Picnic benches and other benches dotted around the water edge for well deserved rests. Free parking. All in all great place to visit. Only negative is that the way down from the car park (choice of two slopes) is quite steep. It's a good work out pushing a pram up. I can imagine pushing your own wheelchair would be very difficult.

Pleasant walk. Surprising in an urban area. Enjoyable green area. Very muddy at the moment and fairly busy. Good new play area. Toilets currently open (reasonable) with a coffee van and ice cream van. Large ish car park but partially flooded. We parked on the road.
