All I can say is… what an incredible place. With Covid still about, a 2 day vacation in this hotel was amazing. Having one of the apartments, there was an amazing view across the river. Bar staff were great and very attentive and even letting you sample some of the variety of beers they supply. The food was incredible and the atmosphere was great. Lovely bar for a few drinks before heading in for your dinner. Looking forward to returning 😀

Having been regular visitors using the restaurant over the last 11 years, and been extremely impressed on every visit, we were pleased to get a voucher given to us for afternoon tea. Sadly, the restaurant experience did not reflect on the afternoon tea. We arrived at 1645- our booked time- and were shown to a table. We were given a menu, and the waiter returned around 5 minutes later to confirm our booking, and clarify our requirements. We ordered our afternoon tea, and waited.........35 minutes later, it arrived, no excuses were given for the delay. The afternoon tea was very pleasant, however, the moment we finished, a waiter appeared and starting clearing the table! I appreciate that, by then, it was nearly 1800, and presumably, the table was needed for evening meals, however, no time limit was mentioned to us, and as the time delay was not our fault, we were a little disappointed at the apparent “pressure” for us to leave. This experience has not changed our feelings towards using the restaurant for meals, but future afternoon teas? Maybe not!

We had booked Christmas day lunch at the Captain's club. Then I got a notification to self isolate from the NHS track and trace app. I rang and told the Captain's club we couldn't come because I have to self isolate. They rang back in 20 minutes and said don't worry we will deliver your Christmas lunch. Brilliant service and delicious food. Merry Christmas to all at the hotel.

Amazing hotel in a great location. The staff were all so friendly and the restaurant food was great. I can honestly say this is one of the best hotels we have been to in the UK. Harry behind the bar and Harry in the restaurant, made the whole experience extra special.
