Christmas event. Food okay if you like processed ham and chicken/Turkey loaf. Presentation night for CPA's followed by some delicious drinks and nibbles. Up to their usually high standards the night was a great success including the technology.

What a great place to stay. We had a work conference, so once we were on site, we could walk into town and check out the restaurants. Buffet breakfast available. Not much space in the room fridge to add your own items.

Very tidy room, would recommend for anyone needing an overnight in the city. In the Corporate Queen room it's a bit cramped for any longer but the other room options do appear to correct this. Very happy with my experience with the rooms and bar. Great friendly service all around.

After a long day and nights drive, my partner and I were desperate to stop in Mt Isa and lay our heads. Unfortunately it was too early and everywhere we tried wasn't accepting anyone before lunch time. Graham at Burke and Will's however not only managed to offer us a room, but very graciously also accommodated some room for a trailer. Everything from the room and facilities, to the service was over and above what we could have hoped for, and we left there wishing we had time to stay longer. We can't thank Graham and the staff there enough for an amazing stay!

My husband and I went to Burke & Wills for the ‘breakfast buffet’ this morning for his birthday

1/ 5

My husband and I went to Burke & Wills for the ‘breakfast buffet’ this morning for his birthday and to say it was a disappointment is an understatement. We have been to our fair share of buffets over the years and this takes the lead for being the WORST. Whilst yes the staff were friendly, the food was below average. When we arrived there was no one dining which should’ve been an instant red flag. The entire buffet is displayed on a on a table in the far corner. The food was cold. The “poached” eggs were COLD and HARD. My husband asked for scrambled eggs and while it was nice of them to make him some, it took about 30-40 minutes to come out just as we were about to leave. There was no bread (had to ask for some which they brought out later but told us to toast ourselves despite the waiter offering to toast it for us). There were 6 pastries displayed. No accomodation for any dietary requirements (ie diary free options). The single Juice dispenser was less than 1/4 full and was not refilled again during our 1 hour stay. Unfortunately this experience has ruined my husbands day and mine as this was suppose to be a nice birthday breakfast. I would NOT recommend this buffet breakfast to anyone and will never be returning again.
