I couldn't even get through by telephone to try and join this practice. Firstly engaged, then on three separate attempts to different extension numbers, no one was answering. It was only 11.30-11.45 in the morning on 21/8/18. Then upon trying again at 12.10 the voicemail advised the surgery was closed! This may not reflect the quality of the medical services, but if you can'r even get through and receive such mixed messages, what is one to think? I tried again at 14.05 and after a long wait a disinterested staff member answered. She advised me 3 weeks wait for new patient appointments and generally 2 weeks wait for a general appointment. I'm looking elsewhere........

In response to the honourable lady who also reviewed this practice. This is indeed a small practice, with a number of available resources to match the capacity. Considering this, I have found the delivery of services here terrific in the times that I have attended. The GP is helpful in as many ways as possible, and generally cares about the patients that attend his practice. I have had a number of GP's over the years of moving around, and this has been the best one so far. I consider this lucky on my behalf, and most likely the others who also attend. In light of available resource, I am sure that the desk staff feel obliged to help, while at the same time being mindful of over-stretching demand against capacity to deliver, in order to maintain such a high quality of service. Clarity for new patrons wishing to join the practice, could be attained I am sure, by asking the more direct question: "Is it possible to join the practice, (Y/N) and how can I go about it". I am sure at the end of the day, delivery of service from a GP perspective is why we attend in the first place, rather than to subjectively evaluate our interactions with reception staff on a given occasion. Thank you Bradbury, you have been brilliant, please keep this up. T Woods

I just called to book an appointment to become a new patient... the receptionist had the worst tone with me, it's almost as if I had asked her to offer up her first born as a sacrifice. She seemed to be doing everything in her power to stop me from joining the practice. 'Why did you have to get a new medical card?' 'Where exactly do you live?' 'Your existing doctors is only 5 minutes from here...' 'There's only one doctor at this practice...' Message received. I cancelled the appointment. Just for your information, I wanted to change GPs as I had a poor experience with the one I'm with now. By the sounds of it, I wouldn't have had much better luck with this one. Shocking.
