Friendly pub in the Merchant City area housed in a fantastic old building with columned entrance, high ceilings and loads of period features. Friendly landlady, good choice of ales and other beers. All laid out with space so you can have a private conversation. Nice and quiet early on a Sunday evening especially.

Lovely and warm, homely.Lovely food aromas.Nice mix of clientele, both younger and middle aged groups and couples. Staff friendly and welcoming. Drinks reasonably priced considering its Merchant city. Menu appeared lovely and fairly priced Good choice of wines. Food looked good. We had some pitta and dip as a snack only and it was really nice. It was busy enough without being mobbed. Background music ,you could chat easily. We stopped here as a starter drink on a night out and ended up being here most of the night .

Fantastic food and drinks at reasonable prices, with free entertainment -free for all folk/Scottish music with guitarists, singing, accordion, flutes, violins. A great way to while away the hours on a Saturday afternoon. The older lady in the hat (see pictures) also plays! Recommend you book a table as it can get busy, with a few folks standing at the bar.
