Around Town Flats have been amazing at helping us with any issues that arose during our residency here. They have an app which lets you report issues in a number of categories that helps narrow down the problem then they deal with it based on urgency. What's more, our flat looks amazing and was brand new when we moved in.

AVOID - I have had issues in the house and have been told 'it's just something you'll have to live with' whilst reporting. The description on the property was mostly made up of lies and when we were shown around were told several changes would be made which would then have the property better marry up with the description - again this was lies. Was promised a date for the corrections to be done and then this was mysteriously cancelled - another lie (it was eventually done but by a LOT of unnecessary hassling) but this still didn't fully rectify the issue 100% so was then told 'live with it' - excellent customer service. Try to call to speak with the person who deals with your house and they always tell you that said person is 'unavailable all day'...likely to be a lie. I would just go through another provider or private because this company have no idea. They will charge a lot and expect you to live in a hovel. I just couldn't sleep at night if I was providing this level of customer service in my own work. It would make me feel like it wasn't doing my best or my share of the workload. Obviously this isn't the case for this company.

You WILL NOT get your deposit back. Just avoid using them if you want a fair chance of getting your deposit back. Even if the house looks better when you leave than it did when you arrive. I assume the only source of income they make is through keeping your deposit. Dont expect it to be returned to you, do not.

Disappointed to hear of the conduct of Around Town Flats, including: - Allowing tenants into a tenancy two weeks late, only to see exposed wiring and broken furniture. This shows a clear disdain for the people paying them handsomely, and a disregard for minimum standards. - Ignoring reasonable requests for rent reductions after a tenant was furloughed and moved home as a result to reduce bills. Their response seems to suggest they are putting their own profit before the people who live in the tenancies they manage. A humane response is now required.

They rent out flats that are not suitable to live in. I had to fight for a doorbell (5th floor flat) for two months, my heating and warm water did not work properly for almost two months, British gas told me that the whole house is close to blowing up because two gas boiler in that house were on the verge of breaking ... i could go on like this for forever. And in the end, they wanted to keep money from my deposit. This is unacceptable.
