Londis Convenience Store and Post Office – Canon Lane – Pinner ---------------------------------

1/ 5

Londis Convenience Store and Post Office – Canon Lane – Pinner ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The layout of this tiny, grotty store is very poor and congested as the Post Office counter is placed right next to their till (so the owner can operate both PO counter and the till). Service is bad as the disinterested owner and his wife are often quite rude to their customers. I went to drop off a Royal Mail parcel and the post office counter was shut during normal working hours. The wife who was filling the shelves told me to come back in a couple of hours (the husband and one other person were cleaning and stocking up the cigarette shelf behind the PO counter). I asked if I could wait for a few minutes as I had walked a long way just to drop off the parcel, that the label was already paid for, all they had to do was to scan it and take it in. It was at that stage that the rude husband, poked his head from behind the till and told me to come back later - he was shouting as if I was deaf. I explained the situation again and he told me to walk another 15 minutes to the next Post Office in Pinner. When I said I did not have time to waste walking further, he shouted: “Will you pay me if I fall over trying to get to the scanning machine?” Bearing in mind that it was only 2 feet away (as the place is so tiny and he could have easily reached it from both sides of the counter), I replied, “Yes I will pay you if you fall, lets see you fall down in such a tiny place. Go on let’s see you do it.” At that stage the clown’s face fell, as he realized the absurdity of his comment, but he did not want to assist me. I asked for his name so that I could complain to the Post Office and he pointed to the name shown on the side of the till and told me to snap a picture on my phone and complain as he could not care less. I took a photo as suggested and have not only complained to the Post Office about this rubbish service but also posted this review. I still don’t understand why they had to start cleaning and filling the cigarette shelf behind the PO counter during officially stated opening hours. Why could they not do it at closing time? I would request all who read this comment and have had similar bad experiences to avoid the store. Maybe if they start losing business, they will realize the importance of customer service and understand why they should be polite and apologetic to customers, when they can’t provide the service they are being paid for. The PO is paying them a salary to run the counter during standard PO opening hours and they can’t just shut it down when they feel like. They both displayed a total “don’t care” attitude over something they could have easily assisted with if they wanted to. I hope that the PO take away their agency from these clowns who treat customers like dirt.

BEST TO AVOID! 1 star rating is too high, -5 would be more appropriate. I went to buy stamps earlie

BEST TO AVOID! 1 star rating is too high, -5 would be more appropriate. I went to buy stamps earlier, for my STANDARD sized LETTER (23 x 16 cm) & was charged £2.97 for LARGE LETTER…The lady said “because it weighed 57g” (odd because it weighed 48g at home🤔)...& she lied & said “under 20g is £1.68”. Royal Mail online says I’m entitled to 100g weight for STANDARD INTERNATIONAL LETTERS. To EUROPE that would mean I’d pay £1.68 MAX not £2.97! I returned straight away to ask for a refund & my letter back, which she conveniently refused and said had “already been posted” ... This time saying “LETTER THICKNESS” was the ISSUE. But I’d checked myself, would have to exceed 0.5cm, which it did not. Giving me a different answer every time definitely makes her seem more believable. She’s doing dodgy business, ripping people off who are unfamiliar with standard pricing. It’s plain theft in other words so BEST TO AVOID! I’m very disappointed with the service! Seems silly to complain about £1.50 overcharge, but it’s a matter of principle. These people are inconsistent with their pricing; (one day 4 envelopes cost 40p, the next 60p) & reluctant to give refunds & receipts... This lady should be ashamed of herself, DISHONEST & cannot be trusted!
