It’s a great place to find out how Britain industries have been growing and you can see many interesting things about communication and connectivity science Victoria decades such as oldest microphones, cameras, television and telephone also some old instruments about print and paper industry. When I was there some school kids come and two kind and helpful staffs were explaining to them how did work the oldest textile machine into the dark and noisy mills. It was interesting

It’s a really good day out for family. It was chucking it down and we had nothing to do. Came to the museum and it brightened up our day. They have real planes ranging from the 1900s to modern day. They have simulators which were fun. They have a full motion one where you can go upside down. They also. It really makes you feel like your in a fighter jet. They also have a red arrow one. It really makes you appreciate the skill needed to be a pilot. I’m the other building they have the first computers and you even get the chance to lift up a car with just your strength. I would really recommend this place!

Great trip out with the kids. When we went there were lots of free short science shows on by enthusiastic staff that kept the kids interested. All the staff we spoke with whilst we were there from guy at the desk to the exhibit staff and the cafe workers were all really enthusiastic, which sadly can be lacking at other places we have visited. Overall excellent day out.

The Aircraft section is brilliant, How did they get that Shackleton in there?? Helicopters interesting. Auto giro, frighteningly , basic in construction. But it works!! Textile Museum, enlightening, The story of how Cotton is processed very good. Make sure you get to see the Machine Demonstrations and talk by staff. Sadly, the main Railway halls are closed for the next 2 years, for improvements.

Absolutely fantastic! This was well worth driving into Manchester for. We've been to the science museum in London too and this place is vastly superior! No massive queues either which is a bonus. There are so many hands on things for young children to do. We went in February half term and there was a Victorian fair on. At £2 per ride it wasn't too badly priced. We also attended the rocket car building session. You have to get tickets but they're free and you keep the car. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and couldn't help enough. We arrived at 9:55 and despite not opening until 10am they let myself and my 4 year old daughter use the toilets.

This the most beautiful history place which takes you back into the old times. You feel like you are walking into the streets 200 years back in the history. It shows the rise and fall of old days with the technology. You can see through old machines, the old science and technology journey. The best science and technology place in Manchester to visit. If you are a fan of history then there are lots to see here 😀 It is quite spacious place and if you are planning to visit this then you can easily spend two to four hours here.

Always lots to see and do and everywhere is accessible for wheelchairs and buggies. Not much by way of disabled parking however or parking of any kind nearby. At the moment (May 2021) the engine hall and space hall are closed for refurbishment so what you can see is limited. The textile area is still up and going as is the experiment area for hands on entertainment. Currently there is a ‘Top Secret’ exhibition which is great for all ages. There are plenty of toilets including accessible ones and a fab shop near the entrance/exit selling souvenirs and cafe selling sandwiches and soup along with drinks. At the moment you have to book in advance. Tickets are still free with a recommendation of £5 donation (for the upkeep of the museum) still a (very) cheap day out.

Been many times and alway love it. Perfect place to discover Manchester's technological history and more. However: Most of the buildings were closed due to renovations (will definitely go again when it's done!) and there wasn't much notice that the buildings were closed - there is a page on the website - luckily we live nearby but it could be disappointing if you were traveling from further away.

free to get in they just ask for a donation that you don't have to give. There is a learning loft on the top floor for kids that you have to pay for not sure how much it is. One side is closed at the min while they refurbish. But the basement normally has an exhibition on which at the moment is about Cancer and the research into it. On ground floor is about the Mills and you can see looms being used in a live demo a few times a day. There is a gift shop and a cafe that's reasonably priced
