Enterprise Rent-A-Car – York Train Station york

DO NOT HIRE from these DISHONEST PEOPLE on the day of the booking they took our £226 instead of £26 for the insurance then they took a further £200 pounds when I returned it scratched I was lead to belief I was fully covered they then told me I have an excess of £400 to pay and say i was told when i booked. I was not told as I would never have hired a car with that high access. I will be contacting trading standards in york. ENTERPRISE would not discuss my insurance in the office, my car was 45 mins late they discussed my fully comp no access in the car parking lot on an ipad I made it clear insurance I expected which is the one I always chose when hiring a car, first time with ENTERPRISE I was asked to sign the iPad with my finger trusted the guy selling me this item as could not really see the ipad. My complaint has been accepted by trading standards I have also contacted the F.C.A. As yet i have not had the promised call from ENTERPRISE.

DO NOT RENT VEHICLES HERE. VERY DISHONEST! I have never been so bamboozled. If you happen to be travelling abroad be very aware. They renting of the vehicle was pretty straightforward except for the vehicle we reserved was told us that it would not be available for one hour just before they, all of a sudden, had a vehicle at the train station. But if this didn't raise flags, at dropoff a woman pointed to a streak of dirt on the under carriage and wrote it down that we damaged the vehicle. We wiped area and took a photo. ABSOLUTELY NO DAMAGE occurred to this vehicle during our rental. Yet, they charged us an additional $100 for damage. Poor service. Shame on Enterprise. We will never use a rental from Enterprise ever again. As a new follow-up, I have done everything Enterprise has asked. To date, any email you write goes unaddressed unless you consider an email reply explaining that you will be contacted soon. That never happened. What was effective is that you call your credit card company and protest the charges. We had a dirt streak on the undercarriage of the bumper that Enterprise claimed was damage even after I wiped the area clean and took photos. Edit: Sent a follow-up email to Enterprise customer care. Explained we took picture of area in question. The damage claim seemed to indicate a scratch over one foot in length had occurred during our rental period. Attached are photos. I will edit again after the reponse.

Couldn't be more happy with my experience with these guys very professional and sorted me out with a great car, compared to the experience I had at the epsom branch this was a great team.

Got us on the road and super helpful getting us set to go - shout out to Katrina in particular - understanding and pleasant! People often think to review when things go wrong, but here's one case where things went memorably right. Thanks!

Terrible experience. Car was allegedly returned with exterior damage, however it was sat in the train station car park for two days before they finally checked it in, someone must have hit it. Branch manager doesn’t bother to reply to emails. Won’t receive my business in future.

From booking to drop-off, the whole service was impeccable. Called to enquire and the staff member was patient and answered my questions. Once booked online, I received a call about an hour later from Enterprise confirming my booking. An hour before arrival, they called to say my car was reserved but that we were going to another place (10minute drive) to pick the car up which was no biggie as we were notified beforehand and were given a lift from the main branch to where the car was. Denton was extremely friendly, engaging and welcoming. The car didn’t open using my credit card but he was on it straight away on the phone to customer services to get it resolved; could tell he didn’t want us to wait and was keen to get us going. Dropping the car off was no problem; a quick check and we were signed off. Ignore the bad reviews. Follow the dos and don’t and bobs your uncle! Sheila

Great Service. Denton was so professional and helpful. The whole process went smoothly. From the pickup at the train to transfer of luggage to choosing the options that enterprise offers , Denton made me feel like one of the family. I highly recommend Enterprise to anyone who needs a car in York.

I occasionally hire cars from around England and drop then off in York to catch onward trains. The York team are more thorough at spotting minor issues than other parts of England who far more casually drop off a car without as thoroughly checking. On one hand the York offices are doing a good job yet equally will spot and charge you for marks and dents already present. Be careful and fully check and photograph all enterprise cars before accepting them to avoid any confusion. My 3 stars is more of a reflection of the bias rather than the quality of the checks by the York team. One for the seniors mangers to drive consistent quality control. Either way the customers suffer!

After a recent road traffic accident I had to have a compatible courtesy car, after dealing with 2 other branches who were very little help I contacted the Leeman Road branch who by contrast couldn’t help enough, from the moment I phoned them nothing was too much trouble including dropping the car off at a caravan site I was staying at 8.30 at night to returning the car yesterday, I would recommend this branch to anybody many thanks to you all but especially Olivia

I recently hired a Luton van from the Enterprise Leeman Road branch following a handful of other cars since they opened. Although I was late to leave the branch due to what seemed like a shortage in the availability of their vans, this time I was particularly impressed by the customer service I received from two Enterprise employees, both Dan and Katie. They were extremely helpful and professional throughout which made the experience one in which would make me want to return in the future. From a customers point of view it definitely makes a difference having cheerful and friendly staff walking you through the various steps of hiring a vehicle. I will continue to return to Enterprise in the future regardless of my late departure on a couple of occasions.
