One of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in, if not the nicest. The grounds, the house, the decor, the food were all amazing, but what makes it so special is the fantastic service from all staff. We were so impressed with how attentive and helpful everyone was. Our dogs were warmly welcomed as well, with dog beds, treats, bowls, all provided. I'm already looking at dates for when we can return!

This was a fabulous hotel, friendly and attentive staff who all go the extra mile to help make your stay relaxing. The Saloon Restaurant is a must as it is set in a magnificent room overlooking the gardens, delicious food. Stayed in a cosy suite on the top floor of the main house overlooking the main house - simply sumptuous. Can’t wait to go back.

The table service was absolutely dreadful... We waited just over an hour for each course to arrive. When it did arrive, the food was ok but the portions were beyond small. I understand fine dining but £60 for a piece of fillet steak no bigger than a conker, a teaspoon of pureed mash and a (half) piece of chicory is disgraceful! We also waited over 40 minutes for drinks after placing a table order, to the point where I had to go to the bar to re-order! The staff seem so disinterested and unmotivated; they, and the food ruined our stay. The (inclusive) mountain bikes need scrapping as safety critical components (bottom bracket, hubs, brakes, tyres etc.) were damaged. I told staff twice but was offered the same bike 3 x times. Finally, keep a close eye on the bar tab and the food ordered off the menu. Our departure bill was way above astronomical, compared to what we calculated... Our visit here was recommended but we will defiantly not be returning! The place is stunning but the staff, food and service are below sub-standard. I get frustrated by high class establishments that do not value their customers which are essential to their existence. A very poor show Hawkstone Hall...

Visually beautiful, such a wonderful place for a wedding. You will definitely achieve the wow factor from this venue. Have plenty of scenery, detail to the architecture of the building as well as inside being very detailed with classy traditional and old fashioned decor. The toilets are lovely and big not often you get that! Downfalls: due to it being an old building, its not fitted with air conditioning therefore it gets really hot and humid. Some of the steps leading to the hall are very rocky being very hazardous, it did make me think whether this place is accessible. The food unfortunately was a massive let down though, it is enough to knock another star off but as its based on an overall experience its fair to give this place a solid 4.

We visited Hills Kitchen on 1st September with friends. My starter and dessert were first class, although a little more toast with the parfait would be perfect. My steak however was very disappointing- it was slightly over cooked to my order (which wasn’t the main issue). It was however very chewy to say the least. Very unusual for a ribeye steak. Disappointing but otherwise everyone else was very happy with their meal.
