I went to the Spa yesterday and had a great time. The pool was lovely although not very relaxing in the afternoon when full of children having a fun time! The signature treatment was excellent. All the staff were lovely and could not have been more helpful or friendly. The only slight downside was the dank smelling steam room. The sauna was great!

What a gem.. set in beautiful grounds. Very large luxurious rooms. We had a ground floor room overlooking the golf course. The patio doors open on to the edge of the golf course with private patio furniture.. heaven on earth

Such a long delay in getting drinks, evening meals were very good but breakfast very small, limited choices and few accompaniments, seemed at times there were few staff trying their best to cater for the numbers or enough staff but not well organised. Previous experience of this hotel chain was much better by far. To say the smaller golf course is about the worst I have ever played on is an understatement, it really was and not many of our group of 20 disagreed. Such a shame after 2 years looking forward to it. Looking at earlier reviews, others have had similar experiences and can only hope those who are still to play there this year will have more positive things to say and leave having enjoyed it.

Hotel was clean and tidy golf course is 9/10 spot on to be honest. Food was absolutely brilliant credit to the chefs. However…. My father who had attended had broken his leg and had a full pot on, the lift was out of order and it didn’t help that the hotel put us on the 3rd floor. When asked if we could have a ground floor room or disabled room they refused and offered no other alternative therefore my dad had to struggle up 3 flights of stairs over 3 days. The service was shocking, waiting 35-40 minutes between drinks, in a morning bringing bread to the table and no toast which was strange. One pot of coffee between a room of 30+ people and by the time fresh was brought out you’d have finished your breakfast. The building, the course and food I recommend to everyone however the service let this place down massively, could be understood in an extremely busy hotel but can’t be expected with a hotel that’s probably running at 50% capacity just not good enough for the money we paid.

Played golf on the Emerald course on 18/08/21. Beautiful course with well maintained fairways and greens. Demanding but rewards accurate drives and approach shots. Course is first rate. Hotel is not.
