Lovely setting, great staff and the suites and facilities are superb. The spa is heavenly and the fine dining is sublime. Would wholeheartedly recommend. Great links to York. Good for couples, families and those with dogs. Lovely walks across the racecourse or along the river. Transpenine trail is virtually on the doorstep. Will definitely return!!

Special birthday weekend away treat for my friend. Jose & the staff were fantastic, they could not do enough for us.. The food was outstanding, the raspberry soufflé was the best I’ve ever tasted. The extensive gardens are a must, absolutely beautiful. Thank you again for making our weekend away so very special.

I can not think of any suggestions for improvements. The welcome is always great, the staff are professional, you are free to explore the hotel grounds and gardens, the various bedrooms are all so different in character and the breakfast in the morning is impressive. There are no hidden costs. Parking, wi- fi, tea/ coffee and leisure facilities are included in the price. We have returned here so many times and will always want to.
