Another great stay at St Pauls Mercure Sheffield. Upon arrival for the second time this month I was greeted with an upgrade to a fantastic suite for my two night stay, thank you. The service I received from all the staff was outstanding. Victoria the GM was on hand, what seemed to be all the time to ensure her guests received a very high level of service. She a great asset to Mercure. I will definitely be revisiting this hotel. Thank you team Mercure

Booked a staycation girly Spa break as our holiday abroad was cancelled due to the present circumstances. The first spa treatment was a facial done by Shelby and it was absolutely lovely! Decided to have a back, shoulder and scalp massage again absolutely fabulous done by Pirri the following day. The ladies in the spa are extremely helpful and special thanks to Emma, Shelby and Pirri for looking after us. Would highly recommend.

This hotel is in an amazing spot, right in the middle of Sheffield and overlooking the Winter Gardens on one side and Peace Gardens on the other. We had a superior room (not sure why, but appreciated it!) overlooking the Peace Gardens. Was concerned it might be loud with all the Christmas markets outside but we didn’t hear a thing and slept like a log. Huge, comfy bed too! The staff really make the hotel – they’re so friendly, efficient and helpful. Front desk and bar team were all great and made us feel so welcome. They’re a credit to the group! The hotel is definitely tired in places and needs a bit of a refresh (no shower shelf, unmatched glasses, scuffs on paint etc.) but everything is perfectly clean, very comfy and super welcoming. This was my second stay and I’d very happily come back!

Room was excellent, Air con and heating. We stayed in a privilege room, mini bar in room was complimentary and well stocked, a lovely surprise. Just had an evening meal in the restaurant, the meal was delicious . We were served by a delightful young lady called Zuzanne, who couldn't do enough for us.The service was excellent. The bed is king size and very comfortable. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff they are amazing. Looking forward to breakfast tomorrow.

Couldn't fault the room. Great view, very spacious, decent sized bathroom (bath and shower) lovely and warm, spotlessly clean. Facilities were excellent, spa and sauna especially good. Only criticism would be the lack of choice/availability at the bar. Can't wait to go back.

2/ 5

I mean, it's a nice enough and well located hotel, with a lovely restaurant overlooking the Sheffield Winter Garden. But for the price I paid I really expected a better experience. 15 minute queue to check-in despite checking in online (what was the point?). No hotel map so unclear where anything was (even the in-room QR codes didn't link to one). Room had no main light leaving it dim during the daytime. The top of the floor lamp fell off when I touched it, and the switch was broken. The online portal let me request breakfast but then I got an email from the hotel saying it wasn't available, only to find it was when I arrived. Breakfast table got given to someone else while I was up getting more food, and breakfast itself was fine enough but not exactly wide ranging compared to other international hotels. Hotel never replied to my email about dropping a bag before my stay. At the end of the day, there was no major problem, and the staff were all friendly. But there's just too many things wrong to make this worth the money.
