Really nice staff. I met several staff going through a kidney stone emergency at night. I could see they were very busy and overloaded but regardless they all acted efficiently, professionally and with a curtiouse smile. Amazing bunch. Thank you

Honestly the staff are heroes doing the job they do day and night.

Despite the A&E being under tremendous pressure, trying to deal with incoming patients in ambulances and those who came to have their 'boo boos' checked, I have been very well looked after. The wait was long, but staff was doing their best.

It is ridiculous that i was send a text message in order to rate my experience at the A & E department and to see if i would recommend friends and family!!! First of all, people go to the A & E because they have an emergency! 50% of the people there on Tuesday evening should have been screened and told that it was not the correct place for their problem. I spotted 12 policeman/women with 3 man in handcuff that were swearing and made everyone there very uncomfortable. Did they have to be there? Drug addicts, drunks and homeless joined in the fun! I waited from 9.20pm until 5am to be seen by a doctor. I was left in a wheelchair for more than 3 hours The triage nurse, who was very good, could not look at my injury as she had no bed to lay me down! I was then transferred on to a bed and left in front of the resuscitation department where all staff members were running around like headless chickens with so so much to do! While Gary , a drunk, well known to them, was trying to get into a bed occupied by a patient. Violetta the nurse who looked after me, was asked to go for a break, but she could not, she had too much to do. Poor nurses and doctors having to cope with so much that has got nothing to do with A & E. Now how can i rate the service i received? I did wait far too long to be seen by a doctor that is for sure. How can i recommend this service to friends and family? Is there an alternative?

Visited Saturday morning after a fall. Staff friendly, calm, welcoming,efficient. Was assessed, had x-ray, and had wrist put in plaster. It took 2 hours from entering to leaving. Many thanks

Went with a sprained ankle to make sure nothing more was wrong All of the doctors and nurses were lovely and very friendly Truely wonderful people!

1-Rude Receptionists. 2- an ENP staff and a nurse were publicly discussing the lack of support from their colleagues. —-> very unprofessional 3- No protection for the patients privacy. Example: a nurse was asking the patient in a very loud voice about their information ( by the way the patient wasn’t deaf because I saw him answering someone else questions without shouting at them). 4- No protection of patient dignity: I was wondering with my urine test in front of everyone in the waiting room. I had to find a tissue to cover it because it was very embarrassing for me. 5- Finally the doctor was very rude. I felt like I was in front of Grand Inquisitor from Star War. “ Dear Doctor D: a warm smile is the universal language of kindness”

I spent 2 days in A & E and the Short Stay Unit with my elderly husband who had had a terminal stroke. Everyone was extremely kind, much more so than just doing their jobs. My thanks go to everyone involved.

This hospital is useless in the casualty dept, how can a nurse diagnose an illness by just looking at someone when no scans are ordered and just give paracetamol for appendicitis and send person home, when the person has previously been treated for a life threatening illness. Disgusting, she's been unable to hold down food or drink for over a week ..i would recommend travelling further afieldto a decent hospital
