Let me describe my ordeal today and know that this is standard for the medical centre. I have been mostly bedridden for 3 days, and finally Monday came round so i could call up for an appointment, I started calling at 8am when the reception should open, took me until 8:47 to finally get past the line is busy stage, the man I spoke to was surprisingly extremely polite and helpful, found no appointments but booked me a telephone triage call. 3 hours later I got a call from a heinous woman who spoke to me with no respect, cut me off constantly, and refused to even acknowledge me asking for her name, simply sighed it off. Got an urgent appointment though for 3:20pm at the end. I am in the waiting room @ 3:20, it is 3:40 by the time I am seen by "Doctor" Alison Davies. I have NEVER encountered a worse doctor in my life. She was constantly rude, had no bedside manner, asked me questions and then cut me off after 5 seconds of responding, and at one point when I had a harsh coughing fit she actually had the gall to say to me ">sigh

Appaling! Getting an appointment is nigh on impossible - I am constantly told to ring at 8 a.m. and have to hang about on hold only to be told there are no appointments! The doctors are very unwilling to refer to a specialist/consultant/hospital, preferring to prescribe cheaper alternatives, which I find to be outrageous, as both myself and my partner have serious health problems, which we have had to research for ourselves and then insist on the proper treatment. The doctors are also very poor at giving advice/information regarding our health conditions or the medicines that are prescribed. It is also impossible to see the same doctor twice, so you have to explain everything from the beginning which wastes the 10 minutes that you are allocated for each appointment. It is, also, not possible to book a double appointment! The nurses seem to be very good, as are the receptionists, but the system that they have to work under is awful...Kafka-esque in fact!

DREADFUL! I became a new patient as I had been living in temporary accommodation at the Ascot Hotel, Burton Homeless accommodation since September so been closed to Burton although Day and Night Pharmacy had been going to Fyfield Surgery, Stapenhill to fetch repeat prescriptions with my old address in Burton. I registered and asked about repeat medication and they said it had to be supplied form Stapenhill. My medical card arrived last week and I was told by Reuben my repeat prescription would be ready for this Monday but it was not. I was refused appointments with GP to review meds and after destroying prescriptions without controlled drugs, issued new correct ones after I contacted 111 because I had been left without medication and Practice Manager threatened to remove me from their practice. After leaving surgery had to be admitted to RDH with chest pain with instructions for urgent referral to Rapid Chest Pain Clinic. I am now too frightened to take meds because even with intervention from 111 I cannot be sure if I will get any more prescriptions! I am certainly not having an appointment with any of their staff!

Tired looking Medical Centre, Staff namely Nurses and Drs are polite, Reception Staff however are rude, You have the reception Office and their can be 4 staff in and only one will be at the front desk you will eventually get one other to answer your query but always the same ones that sit about and dont bother to get up to help. As for phone calls again no courtesy like Hello Good........ Haven Medical Centre. Its a case of Hello Haven............. (No Name) How can I help? So you explain and then its whats your address? and then a silent pause not Just putting you on hold if they need to transfer you across. Had an issue with a Dr here in the past a few years back Dr Jae, would never greet patients properly back to the door on entry and rarely looked up at the patient. I notice she has since gone from the practice. As Meadowfield was similar Patient Service I changed from there to Haven.
