If I could give 0 out of 5 I would. The doctors and nurses here are dangerously negligent, and it seems malpractice is something they simply do not care about. Below are a number of encounters I have had with them.
1) I had a constant headache, struggling to breathe and lost a stone in a week. Their diagnosis: I needed my eyes testing. What the issue actually was: I had glandular fever, which was diagnosed by an out of hours surgery in seconds.
2) I asked to try anti-depressants as I had suffered a self-harming relapse, something I have struggled with since I was little. When ordering my first prescription, I saw the GP had listed in his notes for me that I had never experienced urges to self harm - THIS WAS THE SOLE REASON I HAD ASKED FOR HELP IN THE FIRST PLACE! He simply did not listen to me or care for what I was saying.
3) Way back in 2016 I asked to be referred to the nearest Gender clinic. When I asked if it could remain confidential (keeping in mind I was 20 at this point) they said they couldn't guarantee it. I was only informed years later by a therapist that THIS IS MALPRACTICE. I tried to get a referral again a few years later and THE DOCTOR TRIED TO TALK ME OUT OF IT. 6 months after that I called the gender clinic who confirmed THEY NEVER RECEIVED MY REFERRAL. The waiting lists are now over 3 years, wheras if I'd been referred when I asked to be referred, the waiting list was only 6 months.
I'm completely disgusted - their negligence is life-threatening. If it wasn't for the fact that I truly belive the NHS is vitally important for this country, despite my bad experiences with this particular surgery, I would be taking legal action. I will be changing my doctors as soon as possible, and I urge anyone still with this surgery to do the same.
