I was struggling to find someone professional who waxes men until I saw Harriet’s website. I have never been waxed before so I had a number of concerns about the amount of pain, if she is ok seeing someone with a brain injury and medications (so I can get confused, unfocused, memory issues, and hyper sensitive nerves), and other issues that might present themselves. I phoned Harriet to explain my situation and concerns and she was very understanding and put me at ease so I booked to see her the same day. I arrived about 10 minutes early and she opened the door to let me. I was feeling anxious about about all my concerns again and being there with someone I don’t know but after filling out some form and talking I felt a little better and I was then shown into the room for waxing. During the procedure, we spoke about different things which helped me not focus on what’s happening, despite still feeling it. Harriet did not rush the procedure and I think spent a little longer to make sure the job is done as much as possible. Due to me having a small patch of dry skin, the wax made a small tear that she cleaned properly and treated professionally. She was in no way responsible for the causing the tear. At the end of the waxing, there was still some short hairs, which she had tried (in vain) to remove so I still needed to shave after waxing. I’m not sure if the remaining hairs are just stubborn, already too short, or if it’s a lack of practice waxing men but I will be booking again in 4 weeks, after using moisturiser for dry areas.
P.s. some hairs remained due to the tear in that area making it difficult to wax and some hairs in other areas were stubborn as I just tweezered some out and it wasn’t that easy.
