Three of us came here today at 12.10 pm. Asked if there was enough time to eat a quick lunch - one of the summer menu courses (just one course) since we had to leave at 12.50pm for an appointment. Was told there was. Ordered a chicken pie and 2 burgers. Come 12.43pm, no food arrived and no one came to update us on the status of the order since I ordered... So I cancelled the order... I am sorry I had to cancel it since they were probably in the midst of preparing it, but basically from this experience, I would say be prepared to wait at least half an hour for food to arrive. The restaurant wasn't full, it was just us and another table with 2 ladies seated. The staff are trainees, I get that, so I'm saying it just to give you an idea of timescales. Ordered 3 Cokes with the order. Those were delivered soon after we sat down, so drinks seem fast. However was charged £5.75 for the 3 Cokes, but on the menu it actually listed the Cokes as being 70p each. So basically they ended up charging us around what a high street restaurant chain like Pizza Express would charge for soft drinks. Fair enough but at those chains, at least food would be served much faster when the restaurant is quite empty, and if not, complaints would be in order. If you want to charge normal restaurant prices, give the same level of service. Overall not impressed. Also it would have been easier if they hadn't told me at the start that there would be enough time for us to eat something! They should be more aware of timescales for cooking. Most proper restaurant staff would tell you how long it'd take for the food to be ready and how long the wait would be so you can decide if it would fit your schedule.
