We stayed at the vale resort for our Wedding Anniversary a week before Christmas. While we were there we had a couple's massage in the spa and a lovely meal in the restaurant. All of the staff were amazing and we had a fantastic experience. We will definitely be visiting again.

Lovely place. Was there for afternoon tea for my birthday in 2018 and as we enjoyed it so much my husband and I returned for my birthday in 2019. I was disappointed in that once tea and cake stand were deposited on the table no one returned to offer more tea as had been the case the previous year. All staff had disappeared

Beautiful views and setting, sat in conservatory section, which has great views. Went with friends for birthday afternoon tea. Reasonable price. Selection of unlimited teas/coffees and could have more than one choice. Staff were friendly and attentive. Ordered classic afternoon tea, pescatarian afternoon tea and vegetarian afternoon tea. Good range and variety.

Lovely little hotel. 20 Mins drive for Cardiff city centre. Room was very clean and a good size. Bathroom was well kitted-out, and the bed was comfy. Breakfast a tad expensive, but tasted good and was delivered right on time. Absolutely great if you're looking to day trip into Cardiff, Barry or surrounding areas.

The course is in great condition, well maintained and some bushes and trees have been trimmed or removed. The hotel is brilliant, despite COVID restrictions. If Robert is in the front desk, you can be sure that you will be well looked after and any concerns will be dealt with properly. Well done Robert and well done to hotel management

5/ 5

With ample public spaces, white decor, numerous comfortable upscale rooms and a car park big enough to serve an entire retail park, this is very much a wedding hotel. The attached gym has an excellent high-ceiling pool that is plenty large enough for lap swimming. The grounds are big enough for a pleasant stroll down to the lake. I expect this venue would do any nuptial couple proud.

My husband and I stayed at the vale on 5.11.21 for a one night stay to include 3 course dinner in the Vale Grill which is described as fine Dining. Not the case. The menu was not as advertised online. Lots of the choices had been deleted off the menu leaving a very limited choice. My husband had decided during the afternoon to have the 8oz sirloin. Unfortunately this was not on the menu and had been replaced with a 6oz ribeye steak (with £5 supplement) and was was dreadful. For the price it was very bad value for money. My chicken supreme (thought this was a white wine cream sauce) came as a piece of chicken drizzled in some sort of balsamic sauce. Very disappointed. The starter that we had both chosen was also deleted from the menu. Limited choice and poor service. The starter arrived within minutes if being ordered and then a 45 minute wait for the main meal. The hotel is fab but the Vale Grill food is really poor for approx £38 per head.
