Germany embassy situated near by to Hay Market . Walking distance from the station. People over there quote helpful and they helped us throughout the process of application. It was cash only and we didn't bring the cash. They did the process and given the map of Cash machine near by. Overall application took hardly 10 mins and every was smooth and guided. You have to be very punctual about the time of your appointment and at least reach over there 10 mins before. There is sitting constraints inside as it is too small.

A 90 minute trip to get here to have 'proof of life' certificate signed for 86 year old friend with advanced dementia. 10 minutes late owing to Edinburgh traffic. We were turned away and will have to make the three hour trip again next week. In the background of COP26, this level of inflexibility and lack of charity is despicable.

I seriously don't know who could write a bad review of this place. Of course there are annoying rules they have to follow like any consulate, but from the first email onwards everyone was so kind and helpful it was truly incredible. To be honest I don't normally bother to write reviews, but I am taking the time here because I really can't thank them enough.
