The food area is great, but because of the age of the building, the usable floor space is much smaller than newer M&S stores and the layout is confusing. From the rear entrance you have to go down several flights, through the shop, up one escalator, round that floor, and up another escalator to get to the Men's section. Much better the tram to the M&S at the Gyle Centre if you want clothes or anything non-food.

Marks and Spencer has an old world charm which is in danger of being lost in this modern internet world. We should all treasure this great British institution. They have stylish fashion for men, women and children. All their products are high quality and the staff are friendly even when the shop is very busy. They even have an excellent cafe on Rose street where you can rest with delicious treats and coffees after a hard day shopping. This is a rare place where the shopping is an event. Whether you're a regular shopper or you've never been here you will find something special. Enjoy your visit.

Thank you M&S for your Made without wheat line. It’s made my life so much easier traveling around the UK and literally saved me in Paris where it was the only place I could find truly celiac safe food. Please keep the line coming and stocked!! We need you! :)

I like so much this shop. Shame that I cannot buy everything I want. Helpful staff, they are always polite and sweet.

Traditional store with lots of stuff to browse around and make selections. Not too stuffy on a hot day. Everyone very helpful.

Excellent food as always, never disappointed and lovely variety of cloths to my liking. The lingerie, bra selection and quality is awesome, worth every penny. Very pleased !!!!

Clearly its a very big store with a large amount of stock. But if youre not and overweight man, good luck finding a pair of jeans or trousers as after repeated trips there, it seems its very rare they stock sizes under 33 or 34 waist.

I visited your food hall yesterday and was helped twice by Alan . Alan was so friendly, polite and very helpful . I really appreciated his help. I asked if he was the only Alan and he replied he was the deaf one. Lovely young lad Diane Rhind
