The views of Edinburgh from our room were the best part. The hotel was everything a top notch hotel should be. Breakfast were most generous. Centrally located to walking the city, the park across the way, and down below city transit buses and trams were busy. Very nice place to stay!

The service and location are alright, but the rooms desperately need renovation and a deep clean. For example, we had peeling linoleum floor in the bathroom and mould in the corners near the bath. The tiles around the flush handle were cracked. The view was onto an unflattering, small, dark inner courtyard filled with pipes and air vents. I have stayed in significantly cheaper hotels in Edinburgh with much nicer rooms and just as good a location so I won't be returning.

The hotel is ideally situated in the middle of Princes' Street - a perfect location. The lobby and restaurant look lovely. The room is fine if you don't plan on spending much time in it, however the bathrooms is where this hotel let themselves down. They were very dated and worn feeling. The shower was just a hose coming from the bath that had very low pressure. There were three adults staying in the room and all of us felt the same. Fine for a night or two, and great location to explore Edinburgh.

Severely in need of an upgrade, not worth the price paid for the room. Noisy and dirty, only good thing was the beds were comfortable. One woman staff member working in the bar/restaurant area was extremely rude to customers, however Gabriel was amazing and seemed to do everything from running the bar to making sure everyone was served breakfast efficiently. He remembered guests and made everyone feel the most welcome, top guy! Shame the rooms weren't up to the standard as Gabriel's custom!

The main thing about this hotel is its location. Very convenient for the castle ,for the shops and especially the Christmas market which is literally across the road. We had a great weekend hotel itself is a bit tired but very clean. Breakfast was good you must try the tattie scones and haggis if only the once. Bar was a nice place to relax for an hour or so.

Did not know what to expect from this hotel due to the price we paid plus the hotel being on Princess Street, but it turned our to be great why gave it 5 stars although not a 5 star hotel. Room was very good and large with nice bathroom. Did not have Meal at night but breakfast in the morning was very good brought to you from the kitchen pipping hot and well presented throughly enjoyed it. Staff were nice and helpful.

Didn't stay at the hotel but had an afternoon tea as part of a present in the cafe. The staff were lovely our waiter was especially funny and friendly and made it an enjoyable time. We were seated with a view of the castle. The afternoon tea was lovely abs nothing was too much trouble e.g extra tea bags, coffee instead of tea etc... it was a lovely couple of hours sat eating and talking never felt rushed.
