As you enter the Kirkdale Railway station you will notice that there are two options to access the platforms, The Lift and the stairs. If one of these lifts was to go out of service the only other option would mean taking the stairs. The station does offer toilet facilities which I find is rather useful for those who can't wait as soon as they get off the train. The station has wide platforms with a small community built up area. The station has one vending machine located on the 1st platform {Trains towards Liverpool} so if you plan on stopping by the vending machine be sure to plan the extra 5 minutes depending on the train you take.

This station is situated on the Northern Line. Trains from Liverpool Central station arrive here on their way to Kirkby and Ormskirk. The entrance is at street level but the platform is at a lower level and has to be accessed by lifts or steps. Staff are always on site and there is a ticket/information office.
