York Medical Group at 32 Clifton york

I have been with this practice for nearly 20 years and I am sorry to say that it has definitely not improved since it became part of York Medical Group, making me feel more like just a number than ever. Never any issues with the doctors but it is often very difficult to get through to reception staff. I am surprised that reception is not open all day for a relatively large practice. Its a real nuisance not being able to phone between certain hours. When I get round to it I will be transferring to another practice.

Absolutely mortified. In been my family doctor since birth with the likes of Dr Lakin, Gantley and Kemp. Been trying to get an appointment for a month must admit not in the habit of going, but the one time you think there is something not right you can't get in. The telephone system is terrible, the receptionist was no help. So now it is with great regret that I am going to register with Hewarth Doctors.

There are a couple of good doctors but it takes forever to see one of them. This surgery has lost inportant documents of my daughter I'm sure it's over a year ago now. There has been no effort to find them or reimburse her to get new ones. This practice has gone down the plughole since merging. And do t even get me started on this rediculous blummin phone system! I don't see what was wrong with the old phone number, at least you had a chance to talk to someone. It takes hours to even get through to a person, then they tell you there are no spaaaces for at least three weeks usually. It's a joke!

I have had the best treatment at 32 Clifton and I feel the bad reviews left hear is a result of a poor telephone system the Drs heat are of the very best.

As usual no body answers the phone therefore as usual have to drive to the practice to book an appointment which will be in six weeks time:)

Absolutely awful, can't get appointment, prescriptions always late, shows how much they care when every review is awful and they don't respond

Have moved to the area and have been trying to contact the GP service for the past 6 weeks, never seem to be less than 20 people in a waiting queue and without taking time of work they seem impossible to actually speak to

I've recently moved to York and have just joined this practice. I've no experience of the GP's as yet however the reception staff have been very helpful and efficient and I've had no problem getting through to someone on the phone. They have swiftly sorted out a repeat prescription - all good!

I’ve given the practice one star if there was a minus one then that would have been my review. Since the take over by York Medical group it’s been an absolute shambles to get an appointment to see a doctor ( even before lockdown). The last time I saw a doctor I requested an MRI scan on my back 8 months of agony. Wasn’t referred NHS but referred to private at my own cost £400 to find I need surgery. No faith in them and now when I’m ill I don’t want to go to the gp’s. Bring back the old way of looking after patients. If you can find alternative GP I would if I was you. I am currently waiting to get into another GP’s surgery but Covid holding things up
