Perfect location & views, great rest stop for walkers/cyclists who visit the cafe. Cheap rooms and camping site, clean and well managed facilities. Right by the South Downs Way so popular with walkers. Be sure to visit the cafe as the prices for meals, drinks and snacks are excellent. Good quality food, vegetarian & vegan choices. Friendly staff.

We just stopped for a coffee, but that was worth it! If you're camping here you're in the heart of the Downs and will wake up to great 360-degree views, including the sea. The breakfast looked pretty good too!

Ok, so it helped I was there on a quieter day, but I had a fantastic time at this hostel. When I arrived I had tea and cake, hit the sofa with a sea view and stayed there till after dinner. Had a field to myself (camping) with a sea view again, then full English breakfast in the morning. Fantastic value for money, dinner was half the price of the gastro pub the night before and was still lovely. All facilities and food was excellent. Like for like cheaper and better facilities than a regular campsite. If it was a busy day I can imagine facilties being stretched, but you are in a hostel, be prepared to share stuff with others!?

This hostel reminds me of communist era type hostels back in my native country of Poland. Old style.

This hostel reminds me of communist era type hostels back in my native country of Poland. Old style. Which I love. Brings back memories. And its located in a very beautiful countryside. Only stopped by for an hour, but the staff was super friendly when I ordered some food from them. Its a cozy little place to unwind. Relax from heavy hiking.

I had a wonderful stay at the Truleigh Hill hostel a few weeks ago. The team was exceptionally helpful and genuinely interested in my stay. They called me when I was on my way to the hostel to check if I was ok, which was very thoughtful. They also lent me a charger for my phone which again pretty much saved me. They were overall very positive and kind. The hostel is beautifully located on the South Downs Trail. It is not too far from Brighton and Seven Sisters cliffs. It was a wonderful experience for me.

Had a very restorative stay here after a long day’s cycling. Staff kindly rustled up a pizza after hours and made us an excellent cooked breakfast. The location is perfect, high up on the downs with beautiful views out over the sea. I only wish we’d been able to stay longer.

The coffee shop was closed on the Monday morning I was there, but the facilities for cyclists were very good with tools and even a pump available to use.

Took refuge here in a storm for the night. Duty manager kindly let me stay in the yurt in the garden area and it has a log burner which was excellent. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Main building condition is pretty basic but was a lifesaver for me. I love the YHA, it’s such a great asset to the countryside. Thanks
