Still good 42 years later! I have visited this elegant restaurant in a townhouse off the Circus many times since it opened 42 years ago. Excellent service, interesting locally sourced food and somewhere locals love.

My first choice of where to eat with a visiting to Bath friend. Been here on and off for 40+ years and the same owner and his wife were there to serve us. I rarely eat out in Bath and weren't disappointed. Quiet music in the background and perfect timing between courses made for a relaxing evening. We arrived before 7pm so had the Early Bird dinner £19.50 for 2 courses. 3 choices for each course all served on hot plates with a basket of bread. All our meals were imaginatively garnished so compliments to the chefs both of whom have been there for 26 and 16 years respectively - that alone says something about the owners. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal thank you.

Great food, great wine, friendly attentive service. Traditional food with a nice modern twist, portion size is good but not huge allowing you to enjoy more than one course. Would definitely recommend.

Enjoyed a delicious Christmas lunch at Woods for our No1 Royal Crescent museum guides reunion last week. Staff could not be more accommodating, welcoming and friendly. Meal was tasty and enjoyed by all of us. Novel chocolate purchases at the end were delightful! This place is one of Bath's best and well worth the walk up the town.

A dependable long established restaurant with a tasty Anglo-French menu. Its spacious Georgian dining room is relaxing and welcoming, something actually quite hard to find in Bath. Good French wines. Don't miss the Provençal fish soup.

Food and service were absolutely fantastic. We walked in for dinner and they were really accommodating to our 1 year old. Everything we ordered was amazing, from starters to desserts, and came in a beautiful presentation. Loved how friendly the staff were as well. Would definitely come back next time we are in Bath.
