The best large do it yourself store. Much better quality than B & Q. Great website with click and collect option. Delivery can be expensive but most towns have a store. Usually have large stocks. Great for kitchens and bathrooms with a design service available. Glad they don't have a cafe because I'd be there everyday.

Generally good selection and helpful staff, marked down a star because they sold me a tester pot for a paint that was discontinued and no longer available! Not a big deal but very frustrating at the time :o

2/ 5

The overall experience of dealing with Wickes Baguley to get a new bathroom fitted has been a real mixed bag. The quoting and planning session was really good, alongside the ideas and images produced by Wickes. It's clear that following the sale, the team are too over-run to look after customers appropriately and give confidence that the install will run smoothly. Some of the communication we witnessed between colleagues in store made it clear that the stress is felt within the staff - and was incredibly unprofessional. Ownership of any issues was massively lacking by most of Wickes team members. Who we should have been talking to at any given point was incredibly unclear, and it was obvious that the install needed a bit of light project management from one person on Wickes end, so that we didn't end up feeling that we had to call and chase down furniture and updates. The furniture is clearly ordered that little bit too late on Wickes' end, and the communication outputs to customers regarding this is a cause of stress to a customer coming through thick and fast via different means; text messages, emails, phone calls, no communication at all. There were stock and delivery issues with many many items on our order. I genuinely feel that if I hadn't been as tenacious about the project as I was, there would have been delays or further swop-outs of items. This all being said, the fitters contracted by Wickes were fantastic. They worked hard, asked the right questions, kept me updated and left the bathroom looking incredible, amazingly clean and the attention to detail is admirable on their part. I won't be recommending Wickes, but I would recommend the contracted fitters.
