Extremely poor customer service at the checkout earlier today. One of the items charged at the checkout had clearly been wrongly marked - £12 for a single 25w light bulb, whereas a pack of 4 was also showing £12 on the shelf. When queried, the response of one of the cashiers was "if that's the price on the shelf, that's the price it is"! The other product purchased was also wrongly priced and both cashiers appeared to have little product knowledge and therefore a full refund was requested. Subsequently purchased an identical light bulb from a main competitor for £5! Due to the extremely poor customer service experienced at Wickes Hove branch means I shall go elsewhere in future.

The 'Click and Collect' service is a joke and badly needs improving. Having ordered and paid on line one evening for a pair of taps, next day I popped into Wickes to pick them up. This proved quite a problem. First of all there was no one at the counter and I had to ask staff at the tills to find someone . Then, one someone did arrive, he started looking in a paper file for the record of my purchase. I had showed him on my phone I had bought it electronically but he remarked they always transferred the information to paper (!). But in any case they hadn't and didn't seem to know how tor trace the order on the computer. Eventually, a colleague arrived and they rummaged together in the store room next to the counter. When finally he found the order. I saw it was a mixer tap, not the pair I had paid for. So he went away and this time returned with some bath taps (I ordered basin taps). So gave up looking in the store room and went to the store's bathroom section and took what wanted off the shelf. I had ordered the taps on-line because there were apparently only two pairs left of the model I wanted and I was just lucky that customers had not meanwhile come into the store and bought them before I arrived at Click and Collect.

Naughty naughty. Bought some treated wood on click and collect. Gave me two pieces that were badly split, out of 4. Asked to replace them. Just because I didn't pick them out myself doesn't mean I don't mind being given bad quality stuff. Shame on you wicks.

Good for people in the trade and doing large, cheap jobs. Not great for general home improvements and the painting materials are all cheaper at b&q. Pleasant staff but they don't seem to coordinate in store well. Reserved an item and wasn't as advertised. Shop is clean and tidy although not always fully stocked (best to check online first) and staff are general pleasant and eager to please if a little confused and unorganised.
