DON'T buy a Sim card at WH Smith at Glasgow Airport. We purchased three £25 Vodaphone cards at this location after a discussion with a young woman at the counter who assured us we could easily return one if not used (we weren't sure they would work in the highlands, so only opened two...they didn't work well there so never opened the third). When we attempted to return the last unopened and unused card (with receipt) on our return 9 days later we were told by store manager that this was not possible: they were "only a dealer" for vodaphone. Very disappointed in WH Smith manager David Laing: he steadfastly refused to refund us in any way, even though his employee had made a mistake. He didn't even offer to ask vodaphone to cancel the SIM so he could refund us. We left the country with NO customer support from WHSmith. Buyer beware.

Once again the self service machine couldn't scan my boarding pass. My efforts to obtain help from staff resulted in a young chap arriving and pressing a couple of buttons and said there you go and when he rapidly disappeared I was no further ahead with my purchase. I had to ask for assistance again to complete the transaction. All this to simply buy a newspaper took ten minutes. I will never use this service again

Large, well stocked Smiths with a big section of Scottish themed gifts. Self checkout kiosks force you to let them scan your flight details (presumably to allow Smiths to not pay VAT on purchases by International passengers) which feels very intrusive.

AVOID other shops are way cheaper (Tesco, Boots) and you don't get forced to scan your boarding card or use self checkout machines. Why pay more for little or sometimes no customer service?

Excellent shop with very helpful staff. I was served by a lovely lady today in the WHSmith in the check in area. Saturday 21st August at 0930ish. I didn’t ask the lady’s name unfortunately but she went out of her way to help me. Good range of essentials in the shop
