I went to collect a car on behalf of a customer on the 19 June. When I called ahead I was informed that the vehicle was ready for collection. When I got there, I was told by a female sales assistant that the vehicle had not been paid for and it will be a long wait. I proceeded to contact the finance company and suddenly was told by the sales woman that the vehicle was good to go. I was given one key and told that the other key was with the vehicle along with its log book. I was taken to the vehicle compound by another male assistant, who in my opinion was miserable, unfriendly and rude.
I was dropped off with nothing further said. When inspecting the vehicle I did not find the other ignition key. I called the dealership and was told by the same woman that I needed to go into a door and ask someone for the key. Obviously, I was not told this when I’d been given the key at the dealership. When I challenged this woman about the lack of communication, she became hostile and rude and put the phone down on me. It’s seems from where I was standing, that just because I was a driver picking up a vehicle, they felt it was okay to treat me with contempt. If people fail to communicate properly then they should expect to be pulled up for it.
When I got to the dealership, I explained that I was on a tight timeline. The two sales people were sitting and chatting and completely ignored me when I walked in. What I will say to this dealership is; “don’t judge a book by its cover”
