I lived here whilst doing my master's degree in 2016/17. First, may I say that an experience here depends on who your flatmates are and I got so lucky. Mine were all fabulous and we got on so well. I know that for others, their experience was colored by their flatmate experience. That being said, this was a nice place to live considering it is student housing. Block D backs up to the lake, so it is wonderful, quiet, and has a nice view. The kitchen is cleaned once a week and the en-suite bathroom once every six weeks. The mattress was terrible, but what can you do when it is student housing. The nucleus building is only a 1-minute walk away and it is easy to pick up post from there (if it doesn't fit in your mail box). The key card entry can be a bit difficult at times, but I really enjoyed my time living here and would recommend it for any graduate student studying at York.

The worst accom with bad management. Many violence and sexual harrasment reports were ignored. Complaints from residents about noise, disgusting and unhygienic kitchen communal area issues, thievery, will never have a proper response. The management has communication issues, college tutors dislike the manager they know too much trouble inside. They think because all postgraduate will leave in a year they'll never try to improve their system anyway and get away with it. Poor residents, once they face problems and issues inside the college they will regret to stay there.

The management seriously have serial scandals over harrasments report. Very low response on students misconduct. Lack control of thievery, smoking and late night noisy food party in communal areas. No control of covid social distancing. Too many residents inviting their guests into the flat without mask. My girl flatmate's room get intruded by a mainlander sociopath, our milk poisoned with a fabric softener, and many other issues are left behind without further investigation.
