We stayed one night 3rd September 2021 in room 20. The hotel does not seem to have been maintained or updated since the 70s. Our bathroom had a fan sounding like a boat engine and had flaking paint and was in poor repair. The reception and bar areas were grey, windowless and depressing. The restaurant chairs were shabby with some with stuffing hanging out underneath. My chicken breast was so rubbery I am sure it would have bounced. I was offered a replacement meal from a efficient and pleasant wine waiter who suggested an excellent choice of wine. The golf course was very well maintained. I could not recommend this hotel in any way.

Just went for a round of golf. Lets start with the good. Both courses in great shape, greens very fast and in great condition. That's the only good. So many people on the course and no Marshall. Took 3.5 hours to do 12 holes. Waiting for up to 15 mins at each tee box with up to 3 groups waiting to go. Just gave up in the end. There's no proper management and lots of slow play, no one letting anyone play through. At one point, over 2 holes, we had one group on green, one half way up fairway, 3 groups waiting on the tee. On the hole behind was the same. Can't play when you have to wait so long between holes. It could be great, but so crammed it's not fun at all. Walked off after 13 holes as it was a joke.

Love this place. Have been many times. 2 good golf courses. Accommodation a bit dated but very clean and practical. Staff are super efficient and friendly. Food is excellent if a little pricey as are the drinks. Overall value for money to stay and play is excellent. Will be back next year.

As we return to hospitality opening again there are many challenges facing staff and guests alike. There are many new processes and procedures to learn and adhere to from both perspectives. This last five days we (guests) received assistance, understanding and, above all, kindness from the staff of this lovely venue. Thank you, all. Thank you very much.
