Took KA in for minor repairs today and was musing with Jason about whether it could survive long enough for electric cars to come down in price, with greater range, more & faster public charging points (it wont). Lead to a really helpful discussion with Jason about options. Webbs have been looking after my car for many years and I trust their expertise and knowledge. So lots to go away and ponder on!

Be aware, this garage would do the best to RIP YOU OFF (see picture) without giving any after sale support. My girlfriend has been using this garage for 3 year because she believe in supporting local business, however, at Webbs they spotted that she had no clue about cars and servicing therefore they did their best to charge as much as they could. After the last service I decided to have a look at the invoice to find out that they charged 108 pounds for a "annual service standard" that it did NOT include engine oil, oil filter, air/pollen filter or MOT. The actual cost of the service without MOT was actually 220.93 (250 with MOT). Honestly, we are talking about a Golf 1.6 gasoline, the most common and easy car to service... So my question is, what actually was included in the 108 pounds? I guess the normal check of the car without actually touching the car. Apart from that she changed 2 tyres for 134 pound but then you have to add the cost of valves, ballance, and disposal for almost another 200 quids. On top of that, they fitter a battery that was below the specifications of the manufacturer and, obviously, did not last for more than 12 months. My girl is a key worker that needs the car and when I called to ask for the warranty Mr Webbs said that they were closed, that if I did not read the news about Covid and that he was not going to give me any service, despite being a key worker. I never felt so badly treated. My solution was to buy online at batterymegastore the right battery (for the half of the price that they sold the first one) and changed myself so my partner could work at the children hospice.

I recently booked my car in at Webb’s for a service, mot, brake fluid change etc. The staff were friendly, polite, and helpful. Also the cost of the work was fully explained at the beginning. I told them I was shielding because of Covid and they were happy to collect the car in the morning and return it back at the end of the day valeted. Service was excellent and I would definitely recommend them.

We have a wheelchair adapted vehicle that Webbs have looked after for over 5 years now. We would definitely recommend Webbs because of their high standard of work, their reliability, and their customer care. Being local is also a bonus!
