Simply put this was a main stay for my visit in Oxford. The people there are super friendly and the cafe is really nice. It's a relatively quiet place and you can get a pot of tea for only 2.20£. Definitely recommend it if you need a breather in your vacation.

Excellent bookshop across several floors with a fantastic range of books and a good service ethic. They also have a loyalty card scheme. Its also possible to order on line and pick up in the shop. They seem to have a better range than Amazon and you can browse and compare more easily !

Waterstones is a great bookshop wherever they are found but to survive in Oxford you need to be on top of your game. Do things better than elsewhere perhaps. They have been here for years and I suspect will be there for many more years. Not just books either, there are gift items on sale as well. Don't be put off by the climb to the upper floors, there is a lift as well as stairs.

One of our favourite bookstores in Oxford, large range of everything. Not as big as Blackwells but it has its own charms. There is even a cafe inside if you get thirsty or want somewhere cosy to hide from the cold

A large market, spacious and easy to get around even for wheelchairs. Lots of good, small cafes serving a wide variety of food and independent traders. Well worth visiting if you are shopping in Oxford.

I strongly suspect I met with a powerful witch on my last visit here, or at the very least some kind of soothsayer/mind-reader. The young lady who assisted me was able to suggest pretty much the perfect book. It had everything I could ever have wanted... and more. As though its pages were transcribed from my most fantastical dreams. Anyway, I promptly bought the book on Amazon and it arrived the next day.
