As with every Warhammer, games workshop. Nothing changes except the products with the staff showing the usual above and beyond service. Manager showed me the new contrast paints and for a 30 year vet coming back after a break it was a revelation. Many thanks

If you are going here, you probably know what you are getting in to. Warhammer is basically a subculture with its own language that might initially seem somewhat exclusive. Most of these franchises seem, externally, much the same too. Yes GW make comparatively expensive models that fuel a capitalist empire based on avaricious collecting and gaming that is probably quite deeply psychologically profiled. However, I find Salisbury Warhammer a bit warmer than most outlets. Manager takes a little more care of his customers and this attracts a really nice group of people into the stores orbit and they too are really friendly and helpful. The hobby itself is full of wonderful Geeks with great creative talent, as well as being rather sociable and not so quietly competitive. You build the models, you paint the models, you learn the rules, you make up your army and you do battle against other players. Far better for your darling child than being stuck on a games console, engendering patience and social interaction but also a hobby that will likely endure for quite a few years longer than that console, the majority of players actually being adult. As father and son players, it’s been very bonding. Salisbury Warhammer is a great starting place to begin an epic journey into escapism.
