The bike hire is good value, speedy and quite hassle free. However, said speed had the consequence of me being given a bike which hadn't had the tires inflated for some time, and the front light on which was out of battery. These things are easy enough to check, and it was a bit annoying to have to go back the next day. They service your hired bike for you, any time it needs some adjustment/ repair. The gentleman at the front desk gave me a lock with the bike at no extra charge. Also they did help me with everything the next day. Although the manners of the people who work there can be a little off-putting at first, they clearly mean well and are trying to be friendly, and obviously care about their work. I'd recommend this shop.

Went in with a fully rusted out bottom bracket and seized up chain. Jamie and team managed to get the old garbage bracket out, replaced with a high quality fully encased one, oiled up the chain, and got me riding again by the next day. Price was great, and didn't push the upsell on other bits that need work (which can't be said of other shops in town). Extended the life of the bike by a year or two at least. Thanks!

The Walton Street Cycles store recently went through a renovation and has a modern look and feel. Their bikes are from renown brands. Their comparative disadvantage are uncompetitive prices for the servicing bikes. I had tolerates these for years, but the staff is of the resolute type that all too often put profits before relationships. It is the unhelpful attitude of staff that ruins the convenient location and beautiful aestetics of the shop. Two stars nevertheless for making me go six years on the same bike.

I went into Walton Street cycles yesterday with a problem on my road bike. The staff were lovely and helpful, offering very good advice and service. The range of bike products, lights, locks etc... is also very good. I would not hesitate to return.

Rude and greedy. The man with a long hair just wants to earn endless money from you with every ridiculous excuse/reason. He even said I know bike more than you to “prove” I need to spend “more” money. Don’t go there. One month ago they can fixed the front tyre for 15 pounds. Now 17 pounds and said I have to change my break (same condition a month ago and it costs 45 pounds) or no repairing. Any other bike store in Oxford is definitely way much better than this place.
